Pfc. Jessica Lynch, rescued Tuesday from an Iraqi hospital, fought fiercely and shot several enemy soldiers after Iraqi forces ambushed the Army's 507th Ordnance Maintenance Company, firing her weapon until she ran out of ammunition, U.S. officials said yesterday.

I believe I see some "gongs" in this young lady's future. Bless her for her grit and determination.

I agree with the article that she needs some decompression time and what they call "reflection" before she's sent back to the civilian side. This has got to be tough on her, and I hope that some experienced old hands will sit down with her and help her sort through her reactions and get her head straight before she has to deal with the publicity and all that junk, in addition to the trauma of seeing her buddies killed, being a prisoner, etc. etc. She's going to need all her courage from here on out. Thankfully her West Virginia heritage is in her favor.

Ease up there, Diddle, I'm a former Jar head myself...no one knows Molly better than I do...but everyone is calling her a hero..she is NOT a hero...she is a survivor. The spec ops that went in to get her, and anyone else they hoped to find, were the heros. I have also spent my life after the Corps as a cop. I like female cops, but when the bar fight goes down, I don't want them as my back up...I want Joe and Rick and Bubba...sorry...no women in combat will always be my creed.
