I bet Geraldo is telling where CENTCOM wants the Iraqis to 'think' that unit is located. Iraq has no intel capability other than TV and some dudes on ultralights that flew over some of our unit locations a day or so ago.

As for Geraldo, I think he's showboating. I usually get very annoyed watching his reports. As he talks to the very brave troop like people..

Giving them a chance to say hello to folks at home...insisting they not call him sir....if he was giving sensitive information, he'd be gone. Yessir, I'm beginning to like him a little myself.

Uh oh, Geraldo is using the Iraqi screen writer! He is drawing the battle in the sand.

I can understand your anger with Geraldo, but he is doing us a big favor.

We want the Republican Guard to leave their urban cover to come fight us in the open desert. We want to know if they still have fuel, food, and ammo, at least enough to go on the offensive.

But no matter, if they come out to fight, then we'll slaughter them in the desert. If they stay in their lines, then we'll bomb them out of existence.

They have a small vote in where they die, but not much more than that.

You really should calm down. Do you think that the people he is with right now would let him give away important info? There are people standing right next to him and they don't seem too concerned.

1. Remember how far he was off when he said he was standing on the spot in Afghanistan where some of us died. Wasn't he 40 miles away? He doesn't have a clue where he is.

2. Nobody from the Iraqi bad guys watches Fox. They all watch CNN to get what they want to hear. Fox would drive them as nuts as CNN does us.

3. I know guys in the 101st. A couple who have hated Geraldo all their lives. His finding Jesus didn't change anything. If you're familiar with Snipe hunting, Geraldo is on a 101st Snipe hunt. If in his next broadcast he's holding a bag and a flashlight with nobody around him, you'll know what I mean.

Nuff said.

If they didn't want him doing what he is doing, they would have already shut him up. He was put up to doing it. He knows too much and is too organized for this not to be true.

I agree with a lot of post on two points about Geraldo.

He is not in any way, shape, or form, to be compared with that treacherous leech, Peter Arnett.

He was profoundly impacted by 9/11, and wants to see the bad guys get it bad.

He is still a showman and an entertainer first. That often makes his reporting a little over the top, but I do admire his courage and zeal to cover the story, and his support of the troops.

I figure he's helping. Seems like we are trying to draw out the IRG. But, they aren't taking the bait. So, maybe he's trying to help entice them, while giving his 'report'.

If what he was doing or saying was a no no, he'd be so outta there!

The other night, during one of Levanthal's reports, he was asked about the possible 4-6 day delay. He stammered a bit and didn't want to say anything and when pressed further he said the person in charge of the group he was with was right there next to him out of camera range. I think someone may always be near by when they give their reports.

Geraldo......classic dramatist.

During the beginning of operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan,Geraldo was "Humpin it"..in the mountains looking for the story.

Geraldo was getting fried back home in America for claims that he was narrowly missed by some errant B-52 JDAM....when in actuallity..,he was nowhere near this incident local.

Having returned from work...popped on the T.V. ..gulped a brew..and behold its Geraldo...except this time he looks like he has bought the farm.
Its dark.....he's dressed like some Peshmerger with the headdress to boot,
Except he's twisting and rolling in the dirt on his belly while Northern Alliance Afghans run back and forth shouting excitedly.

WTF!....."Oh my God...his legs have been blown off by a mine" I thought!

Nrrrrrrr.....[Buzzer sound for ....nope wrong answer]

If anyone ever does Geraldo in a movie...I hope its Bill Murray.

Sometimes it seems like the age of Nixon will never end,.... Where the Buffalo roam....[AKA a Bill Murray movie]

Geraldo is just extremely gung-ho! I really feel for those Commanders that have to waste any time at all judging what to let them say. I heard tonight that a reporter was in a "strategy and tactics" meeting with his group. He comes out and reports it.

Relax.

Somebody had to tell Geraldo that information. Knowing that, and knowing him, do you suppose they told him the correct information? He's relaying what he was told, which may or may not be correct. Either way, it's what they wanted (or didn't care) everyone else to hear.

He's a camera hog but suprisingly seems to have rapport with the troops he's been with. They line up for his pep rallies.

I doubt he's saying anything he's not allowed or he'd be on his way home....although I bet Franks and Co. give FOX a bit more leeway when they err.

I hate to admit it but he's ok for now....he is an egotistical madman and he defended our loathed enemy as we all know but at least he's self deprecating and I think genuine in his admiration of the troops.

OK...someone can shoot me now.

As many others have said, chill. He's following the rules and believe me, FNC would never allow any reporter to endanger operations. There's a liason officer with each unit clearing all information these reporters wish to broadcast, it's SOP.

Last evening Geraldo was doing his show and Fox NY/DC reporter brought up recent remarks re Arnett and tossed in Scott Ritter. Hey Geraldo, want some rope? Geraldo was with troops and in their presence, answered back to the effect: "I know both men" and they are great guys, however he did say that Arnetts remarks on Iraqi TV were unfortunate. Geraldos remarks somewhat side stepped the question, however weasel room was left. With Geraldo's recent career tragetory having been like an errant cruise missle (all over cable and cancelled) you never know who you might meet again on the way...

CNN just announced Geralda has been flown to the Kuwaiti border by the 101st, and dropped off.

What an idiot.
