WTF Is Geraldo doing?
Posted on 03/30/2003 8:48:09 PM PST by lewislynn
This is the third night I've seen Geraldo giving the location of his company and mentioning the new supply route to the west.
Three nights ago he gave his location by miles. So many miles north of Q8 and so many miles south of Baghdad and so many miles west of ?....
Now he's drawing their war plan in the sand.
I'll put Geraldo in the Peter Arnett category (is anybody really surprised at his treason?).
I went to the FOX website but can't find the e-mail address...I'm pissed.

I don't happen to like him AT ALL..
I am concerned about this "infighting" here, however..
Has he clearance to say these things?
I do like the fact that some of the troops are shown here, and saying "Hi" to their folks..
It is a good thing among the bad..is it not?

BTW
If you served in Viet Nam, or in any war for your country,
I happen to think it makes you VERY special...

Its funny, I know 2 people who went to law school with him in Brooklyn. They way they described him was having absolutley no morals, no true beliefs, just pure selfishness and greed (in other words they thought he would become a successfull lawyer). He also liked to brag about his "benafactor". I always figured he was a lefty, but they told me that when they talked politics with him back in school, he said something like, in New York, I'm a dem, if I was in the midwest, I'd be a republican. He doesn't have any real true political beliefs, all he knows is his paycheck, his ego and women. He's pure slime.

Has he clearance to say these things? I don't know. I'm pretty sure the people there are trying to fight a war, not babysit Geraldo...Some people say things they shouldn't without knowing they shoudn't.
It is a good thing among the bad..is it not?
Of course it is but they didn't go over there to get their picture taken with Geraldo. There really are more important things than having their moms see them on TV...
Hopefuly it won't be the last image they see of their son's or daughters because some blowhard, big headed reporter is trying to impress America with his knowledge of troop locations and battle plans.

Do you think he will find a mummified Bin Laden in Saddam's secret vaults?
To: THE_RAIDER
If they didn't want him to say what he's saying, he'd be disembedded. There's a reason.
To: lewislynn
I never implied they were sent there to babysit Geraldo..
nor that they went over there to have their picture taken..and yes, you are right, hopefully it will not be the last time they have their picture taken..because of him or for any other reason..
The whole point of my post to you to begin with, was to ask you to stop fighting with Radix, not to defend Geraldo..

Blah blah blah blah:
on this score you are wrong about your perceiving that he did wrong...
And if he was in the wrong, ,he will get booted out...
So even you aren't sure. But you and others seem to be reading off the same he will get booted out... page.
I wonder if you'd all be singing the same tune if he was working for CNN rather than working for FOX.
That's what I thought.
Well, the thing is, and this is the thing, and I was really hoping you would pick up on this from mine and other's simular posts: The thing is, I trust our guys, our military guys.
They already kicked one reporter out for not being kosher, so, I just figure if Geraldo violating the trust, he will be kicked out. Our guys will take care of that.
I was hoping you would pick up on that because I didn't want to embarrass you. But, this is like the Matrix and so, I can't give you any quarter. PC is dead. It died on Clinton Legacy Day.

Geraldo might be rying to draw the roaches out the sand so the Marines can squash a few.

..."Geraldo is on a 101st Snipe hunt. If in his next broadcast he's holding a bag and a flashlight with nobody around him, you'll know what I mean." That cracks me up! I can see Whore-aldo falling for that! I don't think he will see alot of action in the field. It seems that he has been kept out off the front lines for a reason.
To: RasterMaster
I just saw a snippet on the scroll bar of the financial network saying Geraldo has been given the boot.

As many others have said, chill. He's following the rules and believe me, FNC would never allow any reporter to endanger operations. There's a liason officer with each unit clearing all information these reporters wish to broadcast, it's SOP.

I heard on the news this morning he had been removed as an embedded reporter and dropped off at the Kuwaiti border for drawing a map in the sand of the 101st's location.

You nailed the Geraldo factor. He is an egomaniac who is a decent guy. He has so much enthusiasm for his style of journalism, he would wade in raw sewage ponds, hunting for submerged soldiers with snorkels if the camera was on.
I can only explain Super-Geraldo as a product of amphetemines or steroid use. His intensity, followed by periods of vanishing are symptomatic of such consumption and then crash periods.
Most people mellow with age and develop a more relaxed style which is quite admirable. The George Will's, Tony Snow's, And yes.....even Dan Rather display the gifts which only come with age and experience. Geraldo on the other hand lives each day like it's Circus Maximus all over again with each sunrise. He's like "Groundhog Day".
I admire Super-Geraldo's energy but I find it unprofessional. I am certain that any journalistic background he may claim is direct from Parker Brothers University.

Last evening Geraldo was doing his show and Fox NY/DC reporter brought up recent remarks re Arnett and tossed in Scott Ritter. Hey Geraldo, want some rope? Geraldo was with troops and in their presence, answered back to the effect: "I know both men" and they are great guys, however he did say that Arnetts remarks on Iraqi TV were unfortunate. Geraldos remarks somewhat side stepped the question, however weasel room was left. With Geraldo's recent career tragetory having been like an errant cruise missle (all over cable and cancelled) you never know who you might meet again on the way...

I was thinking the same thing.
If Geraldo is driving you batty because he won't shut up from his amphetemine induced intensity, send him on a mission to secure the supply of sky hooks(sizes #4 thru #12), aluminum magnets, left handed smoke shifters, henway's, and of course a bag of snipes.
Not only will he do it, he'll film the whole thing in outfits appropraite for each mission.

CNN just announced Geralda has been flown to the Kuwaiti border by the 101st, and dropped off.
What an idiot.
