G Gordon Liddy Speaking in Tunica, Mississippi - March 29th at The Grand Casino

Posted on 03/28/2003 6:55:31 PM PST by dmcg_98

One of the leading European newspapers, Le Matin, of Paris, describes G. Gordon Liddy as "a man of fantastic intelligence and complexity." Educated privately by Benedictines and Jesuits, Mr. Liddy earned a B.S. degree from Fordham University and an Ll.D. from the Fordham Law School, graduating as a member of The Law Review. After two years service as an Army artillery officer during the Korean War, Mr. Liddy entered the FBI as a Special Agent, rapidly earned multiple commendations from the late J. Edgar Hoover and, at age 29, became the youngest Bureau Supervisor at FBI national headquarters in Washington, D.C., where he served during the Kennedy administration.

Mr. Liddy resigned from the FBI in 1962 to practice international law in Manhattan. Thereafter he served as a prosecutor, ran unsuccessfully for Congress from the 28th district of New York, then in 1968, ran the presidential campaign of Richard Nixon in that district.

In the Nixon administration, Mr. Liddy served first as Special Assistant to the Secretary of the Treasury; was then appointed Enforcement Legislative Counsel, authored the Explosives Control Act and, in 1971 was sent to the White House as Staff Assistant to the President of the United States.

At the White House, Mr. Liddy had oversight responsibility for Treasury policy on firearms and explosives and authored the memorandum that led to the creation of the Drug Enforcement Administration. Subsequently he was assigned additional special duties as a member of the top secret White House Special Investigations Group. Mr. Liddy resigned his White House post to accept the positions of General Counsel of the 1972 Republican presidential campaign and the campaign finance committee, with additional duties as campaign political intelligence director. The rest is history.

For his role in Watergate, and for refusing steadfastly to implicate others, Mr. Liddy was sentenced to over twenty years in prison. He served nearly five years, many in maximum security, including 106 days of solitary confinement, before his release by President Carter "in the interests of justice".

Today, Mr. Liddy is the host of THE G. GORDON LIDDY SHOW, a radio program syndicated in 170 markets; is the author of three best-sellers and numerous magazine articles, and is an actor in motion pictures and television, currently a co-star of "18 Wheels of Justice" a weekly television series on The National Network. He was awarded his paratrooper wings after training in Israel and jumping with the elite IDF parachute regiment; is a member of the Honor Legion of the Police Department of the City of New York and, according to The Wall Street Journal, is "one of the most sought after speakers in the nation."

Aww, he's one of the last REAL characters of a bygone age... I say he possesses folly and wisdom in equally copious amounts, and is, if nothing else, a very interesting personality.

I think one of the more classic Liddy moments was on Politically Incorrect when he was talking about Kwaanza being the bogus holiday that it is. He said that if you dropped someone into the most isolated areas of Africa and said "joyous Kwaanza!" to the natives, they'd stick a speer through you! The look on everyones face was classic.

I never knew that. It figures, though. Someone too stupid to break into a RAT hotel room without getting caught, would also tend to think that a massive bureaucracy fighting a War On Drugs is a good idea.

G. Gordon Liddy has a radio talk show which is heard on some stations preceding Rush. Liddy is a loyal American who loves this country and supports our president.

He also openly brags about being unfaithful to his wife. He rationalizes this behavior by stating the most "macho" always feel the need to procreate. It makes a strong gene pool.

Pitiful, Clinton like delusion.

I quit listening to him because of such nonsense. I lost all respect for him. Not long after he started with that crap, WKRC in Cincinnati took him off the air.

Good riddance.

When he does this? Where's your evidence? I have been listening to his show for years and have heard nothing of this nature.

Why do you so quickly accept somebody's assertion without proof?

Liddy is an agnostic Catholic and a McCainiac to boot! Still,he has a tremendous sense of humor. And if Mrs. Liddy can put up with him, I guess we on this forum can.
