FOX NEWS "OUTS" Protesters!
FOX NEWS | 27 March 03 | Self

Posted on 03/27/2003 5:52:33 AM PST by TPartyType

Just a few moments ago, the morning crew at Fox News was interviewing a wounded soldier from the Army Hospital in Germany and they showed him some footage of the couple dozen "die-in" protesters on Fifth Avenue in New York to get his reaction.

When they set it up, the reporterette said, "You've got to keep in mind, Sargeant, that this group is organized by 'Anarchists and Communists,' 'The International Socialist Organization,' and 'Psycho Therapists against War.'" All three reporters took a shot at the inane, professionally-organized protest and the sargeant just shrugged and said somehing to the effect of "well we're fighting for their right to voice their opinion; just don't take it out on the soldiers is all I have to say." Very classy.

Then good ol' Fred Thompson came on a few minutes later and they "outed the protesters" again! They showed his commercial and talked a bit about how there seemed to be as many photographers as protesters and that it was the same old crowd we've been identifying here at FR since February 15. Fred did a great job articulating why and how the American people should frame these "world-wide" protests. I really appreciated what they said because I've been trying to get the word out at my university. I hope the mainstream media starts to "frame the protests" the way Fox News did . . . (but I'm not holding my breath!)

Maybe it's just coincidence, but the Los Angeles Times had, in their "B" section (California-local news), a front page article on an "activist family" ... professional protestors and protest organizers. That's their vocation!

Lets also not forget, the right to protest is exactly what those solders are fighting for. Just because we might not agree with there opinion, doesn't mean they should not be able to express it.

No argument there. I fully support the First Amendment and all that it entails. That said, my major beef with the "peace protesters" these days is that they are going far beyond voicing their views and are instead engaging in wantonly disruptive conduct (blocking roads and access to various facilities). This doesn't strike me as sincere dissent; it strikes me as nothing more than a temper tantrum because they aren't getting their way. What's even more disgusting is that these "protesters" sell their antics as "political commentary"...and the "mainstream" media laps it up.

I think Hansell Duckett (Associate Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court) said it best: "What this country needs is more free speech worth listening to."

Fox is awesome!! Many of us have been e-mailing them with this information and have been extremely happy to see them address this. We even posted an article from Fox on FR that addressed this issue on their website. They are the ONLY news org reporting on this subject.

They report the TRUTH. Thank GOD someone is doing it. Thank GOD they are showing our troops, the British troops and all our Allies that they appreciate them. Fox is making us very proud!!

See response #3 on this link to send them a note :o)

These other news networks are the enemies of America. It's as if they actually want America to lose this war.

They do. Study Jennings face. He wants a stalemate.

Anti-War protest funding: We have the ANSWER

Tracking Down A Fifth Column Front
By Edward Immler
FrontPageMagazine.com | September 18, 2002

Vietnam-era anti-war protestors continue their demonstrating today, most recently in San Francisco against a potential Iraq war, but the sponsorship, partnerships, and funding of these groups raise questions about their real purpose. They are very organized, have a significant Internet presence, and actively raise large amounts of money.

This all started when I saw the name of a protest group listed in an AP wire story. I wondered a bit about this and tried to find out about this group via the Internet. I found that I could trace it back at least to 1987 (in various forms, though at the same address). Note that if a foreign country wanted to fund anti-war activism regarding Iraq, all they'd need to do is donate to a day care center in New York (and it's deductible).

I'm getting damned tired of the left playing the FREEDOM OF SPEECH! card... as if the 1st Amendment stopped somewhere just short of our right to criticize the miserable Stalinist bastards.

Alright for them! I wonder how many ordinary Americans know who is backing these so called peace rally's and why? Not many, unless they watch Foxnews!

Yeah, but what about the fact that they tie up law enforcement so much that prople who are victims of crime cannot get the assistance they need? Where does it say that their right to protest takes my rights away. Yep! I'm a disabled veteran and I, too believe in their right to protest, i.e. peacefully protest, not the kind of protesting we see now. And when the shooting starts and guys are being wounded and killed, it's time to tone it down even more. There is such a thing as respect. Of, course, most of these idiots know nothing of that word.

No, the right to hate their own country and lie is not what our soldiers are fighting for. You are quite wrong. Also, you should learn how to spell before disrupting. Next, what do these protestors have to hide? Why are they so fearful of their methods, organization, and sponsoring groups being revealed on the air? Last, the FOX coorespondents were exercising their free speech. They sure weren't advocating prohibition of free speech. You may now crawl back under the rock which you came from.
