RNC Chairman Racicot Decries Daschle's Eve of War Attack on President

WASHINGTON - Marc Racicot, Chairman of the Republican National Committee (RNC), today issued the following statement in response to Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle (D-SD), who on the eve of war attempted to gain partisan advantage by blaming President Bush for potential war casualties:

“As President Bush, our Commander in Chief, addresses the grave and serious threats we face at home and abroad, it is disheartening and shameful for Senator Daschle, who has previously advocated and authorized the use of force in Iraq, to now blame America first. I urge all Americans to reject such divisive and brazen political posturing.”

The following is the statement by Senator Tom Daschle that Chairman Racicot is calling him on:

SENATOR TOM DASCHLE: “I’m Saddened, Saddened That This President Failed So Miserably At Diplomacy That We’re Now Forced To War. Saddened That We Have To Give Up One Life Because This President Couldn’t Create The Kind Of Diplomatic Effort That Was So Critical For Our Country.” (Senator Tom Daschle, Remarks At International Association Of Firefighters Conference, 3/17/03)

Please contact Senator Tom Daschle's office and demand he resign as Minority Leader after this statement. Since the RATs went after Trent Lott for his statement that pales in comparision to Daschle, it is only fair that Daschle step down as Minority Leader within the next 48 hours!

Daschle, Thomas - (D - SD)

Just let mr. commie know that "as the son of a victim of terrorism, I am offended by his remarks and will support every effort to see that he never sets foot on Capital Hill again".

My thoughts exactly! Daschle, and his self-righteous pitiful self should resign his seat in the Senate and slink off to SD if they will have him. He is a despicable example of leadership in time of conflict. If he were dying of thirst he would not be worthy of the spit in my mouth.

I just called his office and let the girl that answered know how displeased with his comment I was. She was nice and said she would pass it on. Sure hope she does!

Has there been any statement from the group to which Daschle was speaking to when he made the statement? Wasn't it a firefighters group? I bet they won't endorse that type statement in the least.

Text of my message to Dass-hole:

Senator, you couldn't negotiate your way out of a paper bag. I urge you to resign as minority leader. You are unpatriotic, a partisan dupe, and a disgrace to the United States of America. Where do you get the unmitigated gall to say what you said about President Bush at such a critical juncture in our efforts to rid the world of monsters like Saddam Hussein? Wise up and shut up or get out of the U.S Senate.

I've called his office, e-mailed him, e-mailed Fox, CNN, Drudge. Contrast the following Daschle remarks in '98: In 1998, Clinton passed the Iraqi Liberation Act which called for regime change, but decided to bomb Serbia instead. Daschle supported that resolution by saying the following:

"Look, we have exhausted virtually our diplomatic effort to get the Iraqis to comply with their own agreements and with international law. Given that, what other option is there but to force them to do so? ... The answer is, we don't have another option. We have got to force them to comply, and we are doing so militarily."

And what is Daschle saying now? Now that we have a Republican in the White House who is finally going to do what Clinton should have done ten years ago? Daschle says that he’s “.. saddened that this president failed so miserably at diplomacy that we’re now forced to go to war.” Wow, that’s quite a switch from his Clinton era pronouncements, isn’t it?

Daschle goes even further. He is getting on the bandwagon early to lay the blame squarely at the feet of George Bush for any fatalities American troops may suffer. Daschle doesn’t blame Hussein for failing to live up to his agreement to disarm. He blames Bush for responding to Hussein’s failures and threats. (credit Neil Boortz today). I've told Daschle that when we are at war, and for those of us with family members in harm's way in Iraq, we deserve better representation and demand an explanation for his distasteful partisanship. We will remember at re-election time.

I wish these letters would actually be ready by this scum! my letter to dopehead:

"I regret that I have only one life to give for my country"
to paraphrase a true American Hero.

To quote a true socialist swine:
"“I’m Saddened, Saddened That This President Failed So Miserably At Diplomacy That We’re Now Forced To War. Saddened That We Have To Give Up One Life Because This President Couldn’t Create The Kind Of Diplomatic Effort That Was So Critical For Our Country.”

It is time for you to resign and get off the airwaves. Having to see, let alone listen to you, clinton, and carter speak out AGAINST the United States of America (NOT the union of socialist states you dream of) makes me ill.

We need to get some SD Freepers to check out the availibility of billboards on the interstates in SD.

Then, we can put up messages on those billboards that will let the slime balls who keep voting for Da$$hole that we will not tolerate them and him any longer.

Ebuck coordinated the F.I.R.E. bill boards for Oregon last year and in Arizonia this year. These billboards put the blame of the fires in 2002 on the shoulders of the enviral whackos.

We need some local SD Freepers to check out the billboards and to coordinate signs to nail Da$$hole.

There is enough talent on Free Republic to come with simple and hard hitting messages for those billboards.

Phone calls to Da$$hole will not help.

The billboards and a boycott of SD products, treat them like the traitor French will get his attention. Time to expose him and his voters to the power of "You can't do that anymore without consequences!"

If some SD Freepers can coordinate this, we will raise the funds for the billboards.

Don't waste your time just writing Daschle. Send letters to the editors of all the newspapers of the sorry state that elected him. This link is to the clipping service of South Dakota's Newspaper Association and will distribute your comments to every paper in the state:

Here's what I sent the jerk:

Senator Daschle;

Your continuing attacks on George W. Bush are despicable, you should be ashamed of yourself! Is this all that you Democrats have left, what has my ex-party come to.
You, Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton will go down in history as examples of whining out of touch cretins.
You guys are rushing the demise of the once great Democrat Party!

A recovering liberal,

I sent a blazing e-mail. After submitting this message came up on his site.....

"If the President decides that force is the only remaining option to disarm Saddam Hussein, Democrats and Republicans will be unanimous in our strong support for our troops and for ensuring that they have all the tools and resources needed to be successful."

"If the United States does act militarily against Iraq, it is important that we continue diplomacy to pull together the broadest coalition to aid our efforts during and after the military conflict. America will need the support of our allies to rebuild Iraq once Saddam’s regime is toppled. We must begin working immediately with the United Nations and our friends around the world to delineate the principles that will guide our reconstruction efforts."

Thanks for the bump. He supported all out war with Iraq to achieve regime change in 1998. He admitted in 1998 that diplomacy under Clinton had failed. I've sent his '98 comments to everyone I can think of. Additional suggestions appreciated.
