RNC Chairman Racicot Decries Daschle's Eve of War Attack on President
WASHINGTON - Marc Racicot, Chairman of the Republican National Committee (RNC), today issued the following statement in response to Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle (D-SD), who on the eve of war attempted to gain partisan advantage by blaming President Bush for potential war casualties:
As President Bush, our Commander in Chief, addresses the grave and serious threats we face at home and abroad, it is disheartening and shameful for Senator Daschle, who has previously advocated and authorized the use of force in Iraq, to now blame America first. I urge all Americans to reject such divisive and brazen political posturing.
The following is the statement by Senator Tom Daschle that Chairman Racicot is calling him on:
SENATOR TOM DASCHLE: Im Saddened, Saddened That This President Failed So Miserably At Diplomacy That Were Now Forced To War. Saddened That We Have To Give Up One Life Because This President Couldnt Create The Kind Of Diplomatic Effort That Was So Critical For Our Country. (Senator Tom Daschle, Remarks At International Association Of Firefighters Conference, 3/17/03)

I couldn't believe my eyes and ears when he spewed that vile yesterday. He's constantly sticking his foot in his mouth but this is definitely the most disgusting. He should be thankful he wasn't an Iraqi citizen saying that about his leader.
Yes, emails and phone calls to the media but I still hope he keeps spouting off. I said in another post, his political career will be as short as SH's.

I can't tell you how frustrating it is to have Tommy Bin-D'Aschole as our Senator. He is a vile and disgusting piece of Tom Harkin dung ... PERIOD!

YOU GO! That's GREAT. I really think that insulting him in emails will get us nothing. The best offense is to juxtapose the then/now comments. How can he deny the words that came out of his own mouth?
He is going to be SO SORRY he ever said what he said yesterday. You think the Dixie Chicks got slapped... I can't wait to watch this! I just hope the Republican Senators aren't too gentlemanly/chicken to take this on.

Your attacks against President Bush, on the eve of war, sets in stone that you are nothing more than a duplicitous, traitorous, self-absorbed, little man whose lust for power, desire to obstruct, and hatred of our President, take precedence over your doing anything noble or admirable for our Country's well-being. You should be removed from office.

"I'm saddened that the people of South Dakota failed so miserably at the voting booth that we are now forced into putting up with Little Tommy's comments about war," Senate Minority Leader BOBTHENAILER (Angry-S.D.) told union workers yesterday. If anybody gets the billboard going I'm in for at least half a month.

Here is the note I dropped to da$$hole:
I find your comments yesterday to be very disappointing. They are as follows:
Im saddened, saddened That this President failed so miserably at diplomacy that were now forced to war. Saddened that we have to give up one life because this President could not create the kind of diplomatic effort that was so critical for our country.
Has it ever occurred to you if your party showed stronger support for our President on foreign policy matters, we may not be seeing the UN in general and the French in particular acting this way? What ever happened to partisanship stopping at the waters edge? As the Senate Minority leader, you are in a position to help in the diplomatic effort. Instead, you sit on the sidelines and throw rhetorical grenades which only serve to embolden America's enemies. Is that whose side you are on? Saddam's and France? It appears to me that you hate President Bush so much, you are willing to use divisive rhetoric at a time of war.
I respectfully ask you to resign from the Senate for these outrageous remarks. You may not think it, but your remarks are far worse the Sen. Lott's vague inference to segregation. These are matters related to life, death, torture and rape of innocent women and children. For that, you should resign from the Senate.
To: BOBTHENAILER
Thanks, a billboard or two that embarrasses the voters of SD will calm him down.
Phone calls, emails, and mailagrams to Da$$hole and other Rat Senators is a waste of time. They just ignore them if you are not a voter.
If we can boycott the French and their products, we can boycott SD to wake them up about their traitor, the Da$$hole.

Be glad to tell that POS what I think...my message:
Can't you hold one rhetorical position for longer than 5 minutes? YOU voted FOR passage of the bill authorizing President Bush, as Commander in Chief of the US military, to use force to disarm Saddam Hussein and remove his terrorist regime from power.
YOU stood in front of the American people and justified your YES vote by explaining that in war time, America should speak with one voice.
NOW, on the very EVE of war which YOU voted to authorize, YOU get on television and blame the possible deaths of American soldiers on the PRESIDENT!! What is with you? This isn't one of your flipping DNC playbook political games, this is war : a life or death struggle against a mad tyrant with weapons of mass destruction and the will to USE them.
Your INHUMAN callousness toward thousands of US service members AND their families, by turning the possible deaths of our troops into one of your childish political games, is an atrocity worthy of a CLINTON.
I demand that you PUBLICALLY APOLOGIZE for undermining the efforts of the sitting president of the United States as he tries to ensure the safety and freedom of ALL Americans (including you, you lizard-eyed idiot), especially as 250,000 United States service members stand at the brink of war in Iraq, and STEP DOWN as Senate Minority leader.

Do you have any other quotes from SD? I'd be interested in hearing them. I'm intending on asking his staff if his size 4 shoe takes up much space in that BIG MOUTH of his, when he continually inserts it there.
So far, his little phone lines are busy. I wonder why?

I just got through to the DC office 202-224-2321. Told them I was appalled that he would make a partisian statement when our children were in harm's way.
That he certainly was NOT my leader. I was infuriated with him and he should step down from his position as minority leader.
