I wonder how many Freepers like myself are fortunate enough to have Mr. Conyers as our congressman.
I'll have to write to him and express my disapproval of this action. I'm sure he'll listen to me and he may reconsider. (right after pigs fly...)

Normally, I'd say they're dreaming, but in this case I'd have to say they're tripping on something...acid maybe?

Show me his impeachment resolution against Clinton for military action against Iraq without UN approval or even UN debate, same with Kosovo, Somalia, etc... and I won't call him a hypocrite exercising partisan situationalism.

Conyers was one of the instigators behind the "Reagan Impeachment," in the post-Grenada days. After Reagan sunk the Soviet Aircraft Carrier called Grenada, Conyers and other Dems went nutso.
Conyers also one of original proponents of "Progressive Caucus." Communists one and all, along with all members of Black Caucus and approx. 55 other Democratic Congresscritters.

I would suggest emails to Rep Conyers' office.
But, unlike some here, I would recommend enouraging Conyers to pursue articles of Impeachment.
It would, I think,, demonstrate once and for all to the American People just what kind of people populate the ranks of leadership within the Democratic Party.
It would give us the opportunity to point out that at a time when hundreds of thousands of American servicemen and women are overseas and about to go into harms way, members of the Democratic Party leadership are busying themselves with attempts to bring our President down.
Americans are rightly concerned about the safety of themselves and their families -- and with the security of our great cities. And they will not take kindly, I predict, to any effort to undermine the President at this crucial juncture in history.
THAT is why I think Conyers should be encouraged to do what Conyers (and others on the Left like him) do. Let the American People see those folks for what thehy are -- people who will stop at absolutely nothing to Blame America and to make America less secure.

Only Congress can draw up articles of Impeachment. Since there are no hearings to discuss the topic there can be no articles. This is a public publicity ploy.

U.S. Court Rejects Appeal to Block War
03/13/2003
BOSTON (Reuters) - A U.S. appeals court on Thursday upheld a lower court's ruling that rejected a legal bid by a group of soldiers and U.S. lawmakers to keep President Bush from invading Iraq without a formal declaration of war by Congress. A three-judge panel for the 1st U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals posted an opinion on its Web site (
http://www.ca1.uscourts.gov/) in which it affirmed U.S. District Judge Joseph Tauro's decision to dismiss the lawsuit.

they also threatened bush sr. with this before the first
gulf war. however, their media monopoly is over, and this will be reported now, not 10 years later in a post-presidency interview. this will go over like a lead balloon across this country, except on the two coasts where the "decadent left" live. i love that andrew sullivan phrase.
john conyers needs to hang it up and spend his civilian life figuring out how to be a human being. just disgraceful!!
To: mandingo republican
Actually, this is perfect. There's not a chance in hell it will work, but it provides some oportunities. This will be a chance to contrast Bush's actions against Clinton's during his missile strikes on Iraq.
If Conyer's bill says Bush should be impeached because he's acting without UN sanction, we can point at all of the times Clinton did the same. It will provide a public forum for examining Clinton's record on defending our country, and that's some legacy busting stuff there.
These articles of impeachment may also provoke Bush and Co. into tearing into the Clinton administration. This would damage Hillary beyond repair.
Also keep in mind that Clinton's poll number skyrocketed during his impeachment. Like it or not, it's undeniable that people rallied behind him.
To: mandingo republican
After Clintoon bombed more countries than any other Prez in history of USA, liberal democrazies pull a stunt like this because they haven't been able to railroad the American people for the last 3 years. Oh, ppppuuuuhhhhlllleeezzzeee!
