We have just learned that House Judiciary ranking member John Conyers (D-Mich.) assembled more than two-dozen prominent liberal attorneys and legal scholars on Tuesday to consider articles of impeachment drafted against President Bush by activists seeking to block military action against Saddam Hussein.
Conyers was the only Member of Congress to attend the meeting, however Ramsey Clark--former attorney general was also there.
"We had a pretty frank discussion about putting in a bill of impeachment against President Bush," said Francis Boyle, an Illinois law professor who is working with Clark on the impeachment language.
WE URGES A SWIFT RESPONSE! call Rep. Conyers office to voice their displeasure with him for even considering such an action against a President who has vowed to protect our nation from terror.

Only the Congress can do what we want done. If that is true, why have three lawsuits been filed against private companies? Why is a fourth is in the works against the United States government? As long as people look to Congress, and thus Conyers, he is seen as the leader of the reparations movement.
George Bush could go for that. I mean, if he understands the term. I mean, we may have to explain, that’s why the have a lot of staffers. You explain it, since you explain it we’ll get it. President Bush is an intelligent man – probably a reason he has not supported H.R. 40.
Who’s his chief of staff? Andy Card.
Whoever he is, he can rewrite H.R. 40 in language he can understand. Cause he’s only been to Yale, you gotta understand, you know. He’s only been to all the best schools in the world: private school, Yale. Let’s consult Presidential biographer David C. Whitney: “They enjoyed an active, down-to-earth life of baseball, neighborhood friends, church, and public school…In 1959, when George W. was thirteen, the family moved to Houston where he attended a private school.”1 He never attended private school until he was 13! Whitney goes on to note that Bush was not fond of the prep school he was sent to, and had difficulty adjusting to the regimented atmosphere.2
Never made a dime in his life, until he got into the public trough. Am I being respectful as I describe the truth? Never made a dime in any business that he sat on the board for in his life – including the baseball team. Never made a dime. Finally got a job. Mr. Bush’s oil company was desirable enough to have merged with another company. Who wants to take over a losing business? The Texas Rangers are in a very good position today. They were able to build a new stadium when Bush was an owner. President Bush has been on the public payroll since 1995. Mr. Conyers has been a Congressman since 1965. He opposes reforming Social Security; no word on whether he feels bad about sentencing seniors to a life of meager subsistence while he will have lucrative health care benefits and an annual 5-figure paycheck upon retirement.
No, I’m talking about he got a job as governor. He stole a job, his next job. That was highway robbery; that was burglary. That could get you some time if you were going in somebody’s house. You’d be in a penitentiary now. In order to “steal” an election, the election must first be in the possession of another person. Show me any official, actual count that showed Al Gore winning Florida. All five counts/recounts showed Bush in the lead. The extrapolations of Democratic operatives or the wishes of leftist columnist will not suffice.
But thank God they had Clarence Thomas there to give them the five to four vote that told Florida to cut out counting the election while he was 264 votes ahead. I think 264 is an arbitrary number, selected at random, because no official count will include this number. There is a lot of animosity towards Clarence Thomas, I think for two primary reasons: he disagrees with the radical left, and he’s a reflection of a black person who came from nothing and attained success. If more young black children knew his story they’d realize the opportunity they’ve inherited, and might start working hard instead of making excuses. This would eliminate the black underclass and Conyer’s (and everyone else at this rally) constituency.
And we’re gonna change it in November when we elect six more of our persuasion and take over the House of Representatives. All I can say is: we’ll see, John. We’ll see.
This is the first election in American history where the loser went to the White House and the winner goes back to practicing law. Oh, the pain of such ignorance. Let’s look at the facts, something conveniently missing from this entire rally. (Winner is in bold)

Cause that’s what we ask people that come to Congress so bad – what is your position on reparations?...You support reparations, I support you. You don’t support reparations, I don’t support you. Is that simple enough? George Walker Bush can understand that…That’s the litmus test that you ask everybody that wants to get into government so bad. Reparations is now the most important issue? That is a very bad mistake. But it fits into the ploys of the Civil Rights establishment. As long as ordinary blacks are less concerned with improving their lives and their communities, and instead are looking to the misfortunes of the past, these people have a stable and comfortable job which amounts to nothing more than professional complainer. Reparations is a global issue now. Why do you think Bush pulled us out of Durban, South Africa at the United Nations Conference on Genocide? Because there were others that wanted to raise reparations from their country for what they suffered. President Bush withdrew from Durban because an anti-American/anti-Israel coalition was going to vote that Zionism is a form of racism and the implementation of such is genocide. We paid Japan $1 billion for sex slaves and comfort women. This is a situation most people have never heard of (I myself first heard about it when watching Mr. Conyers). Here is what happened: during World War II, the conquering Japanese army set up “comfort stations” where Korean and Chinese (who the Japanese viewed as racially inferior) women were held as sexual slaves. They were raped, some by 30 or 40 men a day, for years. This included girls as young as eleven. After the war these women were paid reparations. Why did America pay? Because once we won, the Japanese feared their women would face what the women of other nations did. So they gave American soldiers access to the comfort stations. American soldiers used them for a little over a month, but they were closed because of the threat of STDs. This is a black eye on American history, much like slavery. However, the women paid reparations endured horrible tragedy – not their ancestors. As Ret. Brig. Gen. Vorley Rexroad said, “There has been no greater mass crime that I know of . . . that has been committed against modern women, modern-day women, in the 20th century.”4
We paid $1.5 billion to Boris Yeltsin, President of Russia. The money was for Russia but was squandered by Boris – a reflection of the folly of foreign aid.
We paid Austria $25 million for Holocaust survivors. Key word: survivors. These people actually suffered the horror they were being paid for! Nor were they demanding this payment.
We paid $1.2 billion to Japanese-Americans for reparations, and I voted for it. Once again, these were Japanese-Americans who had actually been sent to interment camps.
We paid, Canada gave them 250,000 square miles of land, Canada did, for the Indians and Eskimos for reparations. We paid, in the U.S., $32 million to the Ottawas of Michigan, according to treaty. We paid, the U.S. paid, $31 million to the Chippewas of Wisconsin. They paid $105 million to the Sioux of South Dakota. Australia paid 64,000 square miles of land to the Aborigines of Australia. The U.S. paid $81 million to the Klamath tribe of Oregon. They paid $1 billion and 44 million acres to the native Alaskans for land settlement. With the exception of the Aborigines, all of these are tribes recognized by the U.S. Constitution as sovereign nations. Many, if not all, had treaties violated by the government. Conyers even mentions that the Ottawas received reparations according to treaty! Can anyone provide a treaty between sovereign blacks and the U.S. government? I’ll save you the trouble of searching: there isn’t one!
