SUPPORT THE COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF UPDATE

ARTICLES OF IMPEACHMENT DRAFTED AGAINST THE PRESIDENT!

CRITICAL ACTION ITEMS BELOW!

3/13/03

We have just learned that House Judiciary ranking member John Conyers (D-Mich.) assembled more than two-dozen prominent liberal attorneys and legal scholars on Tuesday to consider articles of impeachment drafted against President Bush by activists seeking to block military action against Saddam Hussein.

Conyers was the only Member of Congress to attend the meeting, however Ramsey Clark--former attorney general was also there.

"We had a pretty frank discussion about putting in a bill of impeachment against President Bush," said Francis Boyle, an Illinois law professor who is working with Clark on the impeachment language.

WE URGES A SWIFT RESPONSE! call Rep. Conyers office to voice their displeasure with him for even considering such an action against a President who has vowed to protect our nation from terror.

Please call as soon as you receive this message!

Below is the contact information you need to make an IMMEDIATE, and DIRECT IMPACT ON THIS ISSUE!

Rep. John Conyers: 202/225-5126 (Washington Office) 313/961-5670 (Main District Office)

And please, after calling Rep. Conyers, pass this message on to your friends and family, urging them to follow your lead by phoning as well.

TOGETHER, WE MUST COMBAT THESE DESPICABLE ACTS AGAINST OUR PRESIDENT!

Thank you, and God Bless America,

...stage protests outside his office...

I don't know where his local office is, but it's probably somewhere where it's not real safe to be a protester.

Show me his impeachment resolution against Clinton for military action against Iraq without UN approval or even UN debate, same with Kosovo, Somalia, etc... and I won't call him a hypocrite exercising partisan situationalism.

Conyers was one of the instigators behind the "Reagan Impeachment," in the post-Grenada days. After Reagan sunk the Soviet Aircraft Carrier called Grenada, Conyers and other Dems went nutso.

Conyers also one of original proponents of "Progressive Caucus." Communists one and all, along with all members of Black Caucus and approx. 55 other Democratic Congresscritters.

...Please if you can, gather with a group of people at his local office...

I might be willing if it was here in my neighborhood. But I'd rather not meet his crowd on their turf.

I would suggest emails to Rep Conyers' office.

But, unlike some here, I would recommend enouraging Conyers to pursue articles of Impeachment.

It would, I think,, demonstrate once and for all to the American People just what kind of people populate the ranks of leadership within the Democratic Party.

It would give us the opportunity to point out that at a time when hundreds of thousands of American servicemen and women are overseas and about to go into harms way, members of the Democratic Party leadership are busying themselves with attempts to bring our President down.

Americans are rightly concerned about the safety of themselves and their families -- and with the security of our great cities. And they will not take kindly, I predict, to any effort to undermine the President at this crucial juncture in history.

THAT is why I think Conyers should be encouraged to do what Conyers (and others on the Left like him) do. Let the American People see those folks for what thehy are -- people who will stop at absolutely nothing to Blame America and to make America less secure.

I can't write what I want to on this board, but I'll bump your ping.

I hear ya ! My e-mail to him is short and sweet. I had to calm down FIRST tho !

Dear Representative Conyers:

I just found that you are beginning impeachment procedures against President Bush. I certainly hope that this is bad information. In the event that it is true I strongly urge you to cease this action. There are absolutely NO grounds upon which to impeach President Bush. In fact, I believe there are grounds for action against key Democrats that continue to unprecedented obstruction by your colleagues in the Senate with their blocking the straight up and down vote for Miguel Estrada's nomination for judicial appointment. THAT is outrageous.

Sincerely . . .

You might be right. His office could be in the penthouse suite of the Holiday Inn for all I know.

I hear you, safety first. Now that I've calmed down. Conyers has a long row to hoe to get the majority in the House to deal with an impeachment.

Only Congress can draw up articles of Impeachment. Since there are no hearings to discuss the topic there can be no articles. This is a public publicity ploy.

Interesting. I would be all for it, except my concern is the distraction.

However, didn't Clinton launch bombs at Iraq while he was being impeached? Yes, I think he did.

And? Big deal! It will remind America that Clinton was impeached, his wife is a Senator, and we going to war because he dropped the ball.

It will also look like sour grapes by the Democrats.
