3 contaminated food items found in my last shopping trip
me

Okay freepers, I need your comments. On Tuesday I went on my weekly shop at our local supermarket here in Orlando and something happened to me that has never happened before and I'm curious as to your opinions.
In a package of pudding cups I bought I found that religious prayer cards (christian) had been inserted inside. Then, I opened up a loaf of bread and found that a large black foreign object had been baked into the loaf. Today, I went to the fridge to get a soda and the next can in my pack was completely EMPTY. The can had a small puncture hole in the the bottom, but there is no evidence that the can leaked after it was put in the box.
I'm beginning to get wierded out. Has anyone else had 3 cases of food product contamination like this occur.....they all seem unrelated, but what are the chances of all 3 happening from the same shopping trip??? Also, I've contacted the bread company and returned the pudding to the store (who basically blew me off as a whacko). Should I call the soda company as well? Thanks.

LOL....just teasing ya.....I have had empty pop cans in cases before.....but one thing that was really odd...several months ago, my son opening and pouring a can of Coca Cola Classic into a glass noticed that it was clear instead of caramel color....none of us would taste it!

Goodness, I consider myself a member of that much maligned "Christian Right" why are you giving me a hard time? I think anyone who places unwanted propaganda into children's food items is a whacko be they Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu whatever......I just said Christian so people wouldn't assume Muslim (which I would have done myself if I hadn't been told).

I'm extremely careful in my purchases...and tend to make quite a bit from scratch. It burns me up when I lose money on an item that's bad.
I almost forgot...I purchased a jar of pickles and didn't check the top. Got home and was ready to open it when I realized someone had already opened it...the pressure was gone from the top cap. grrrr...took that one back to the market too. heavy sigh.
My daughter makes her own pudding now. I bought 1/2 cup containers and she prepares and fills up the cups every week. Are your kiddos old enough to consider that one? The prepackaged puddings are convenient but spendy.

Sounds like a spirit infestation to me. Don't play with Ouija boards!

Well, my 3 year old is really picky, but my 19 month old will eat anything. I'll make the pudding for her and hopefully her big sister will eat it after watching her. I'll keep a look out for the 1/2 cup containers. Thanks!!

Glad you're one of the crew!
Your first message just came across as a bit of a typical whine against 'Christians' and anything close to or having to do with Christians. I get weary of such attitudes and reacted out of that weariness. I can get punchy in such contexts.
I'll try to monitor my assumptions better next time.
Thanks for your kind reply.

gee golly...they're a bit young to make pudding then, huh? :o) My daughter is almost 13.

I understand......I hate that whine as well. Why is it that it's okay to be a devout Muslim or Jew, but not a devout Christian? Oh well, glad to know you're out there. It's nice to meet you ;)

And to argue the other side.
If I had a food company, I'd be tempted to package useful exhortations with my food items as well. I'd try and make them attractive to the widest possible audiance.
But I wouldn't want to reach Heaven and have God show me what COULD HAVE BEEN DONE to rescue folk from hell and destructive life styles but that I was toooooo
--lazy,
--cheap,
--concerned about what others thought,
--profit,
etc. to try and do EVERYTHING I COULD to help people spend eternity with God and His Love and AWAY from satan and his hate.
I would have no apologies for that no matter how whacko you thought me to be.
The stakes are extreme. Extreme measures are in order. And propaganda in food is not even an extreme measure. Ninja turtles and every other kind of thing under the sun gets propagandized in food packaging.
WHY NOT SOMETHING ETERNALLY USEFUL AND IMPACTFUL SUCH AS THE LOVE OF GOD????
Your attitude as a Christian strikes me as . . . either weak or odd. Whacko is too strong.

Interesting. Today I cooked green eggs and ham.

OK, one by one. The religious tract is just that, something done by someone with no manners.
The soda can could have been punctured in transit. Lots of stuff gets damaged by box cutters, not just skyscrapers.
The bread thing is truely weird. All three together, strange.
I see tampered products on the shelf all the time. Some folks just open stuff and leave it. Disgusting. And sometims a whole shelf of soda looks and feels like one of the bottles spewed all over.

I don't think this was placed in the box by the manufacturer. I think someone did it in the store. I don't think that Kraft foods would place religious paraphenalia in their foods.....they're more concerned with their bottom line than with educating the public about religious values.

Glad to meet you, too.
You will probably observe with me--what you see is what you get. I don't stand on formality much and tend to speak probably overly candidly. I hate phoney.
But I do prefer to be kind and charitable. I don't consciously prefer to offend.
But I sling satire and pointed comment somewhat liberally when it seems fitting and sometimes I misjudge.
Blessings to you and all your close relationships.

Here's a shopping tip: Always check the lids/seals on whatever you put in your cart before buying it.
Ya know those wonderful smoked almonds that Walmart sells. I bought 3 cans one time, came home, and found that the seals underneath the plastic lids had been broken on 2 of them. So without checking first, I had no way of knowing that some low-down good-for-nothing freeloading rap-listening pants-falling-down stinky skateboarding bed-head spoiled lazy-parented spelling-challenged future Democrat punk had been sneaking free samples at the store.
To: volchef
In that case,
yeah,
I'd be curious as well.
But if it did not risk contaminating the food, I'd probably forget it quickly.
I agree, Kraft is a massive conglomerate concerned about bucks, primarily.

Agreed, and actually, it really didn't bother me until the other stuff happened as well. it's all just wierd coincidence I'm sure, but I will be keeping a better eye on stuff before I buy it from now on.
BTW we used to have a devout Christian store chain here in Florida (Goodings). They wouldn't sell Tabloid newspapers and other items. Unfortunately, they were bought out by Winn Dixie. I always supported them when I could.

Last week I was in a local Orlando grocery store and almost bought a package of chicken until I saw that the sell by date was 07/01/2000. I checked the other packages and a number of them also had that sell by date. I wonder if they ever sold them...

I've rushed out and registered a trademark and lined up venture capital for "Satanic Pudding, Inc."

Same here... the left (especially the academia left and feminazis) are SO inconsistent when it comes to religion. It's like, respect all religions, but kick out Christianity. So many schools are being so soft on Islam. GRRRRR. Islam represents the worst they could ever think about "fundamentalists" and more, and yet they cuddle Muslims soooooo much.
Not to mention those feminists who get in a tizzy over those common-sense abortion paternal consent laws, but they don't care about what's going on in Muslim nations. Okay, I'll stop ranting now. :o)
