Bad-boy actor Sean Penn says his opposition to a war in Iraq cost him a lucrative movie role - but the film's producer, Steve Bing, calls the claim "extortion." The feud over "Why Men Shouldn't Marry" erupted yesterday amid dueling lawsuits in Los Angeles.

Judging from Mr Bing's credits, I can see why Sean Pennis [sic] upset. This guy has Oscar written all over him.

Bing simply wanted a paternity test before he paid.

I have no problem with that. I remember some of his comments at the time, however. It was more than "simply" wanting the test.

He may be one level above Penn, but that ain't sayin' much.

Penn is a boob but he is also a fine actor. His work in Sweet and Lowdown, Falcon and the Snowman, At Close Range, State of Grace and Casualties of War is excellent, really above standard. Doesn't change things though, he's still a boob.

He als did a good job Producing and Directing Nicholson in "The Crossing Guard" ('95)....
