Happening in Houston
Reported on KSEV, Houston, The Voice, Jon Matthews show...
A soldier on leave from the US Army stopped off in a Conoco station to fill his vehicle and is told by the Middle Eastern man running the place to leave because he is a murderer.
Houston FReepers, if you have the information about the address of the station and the number to Conoco, please spread around. Houstonians are already calling into Conoco demanding the oil company take the franchise away from the man who did this to our military.
If you live in Houston, please fill this thread with more information. I am doing my usual stuff in getting my daughter ready for school and am unable to sit and listen for more pertinent details.
Make that Middle Eastern man feel the wrath!
EAGLES UP!
Jon is small minded and has done great damage to Conservative, Christian, Republicans in Ft Bend County. I welcome ANYONE talking about anything, I too will take every opportunity to point out the short comings of those who voice their uninformed thoughts, and Jon leads the local pack.
One of the many great things about this country is that we enjoy so many freedoms unlike other places in the world. Those freedoms include the right to refuse service to anyone as well as the right to to refuse to do busness with anyone and especially the right to bring everyone's attention to when someone denies you service simply because you're a conservative or a freeper or you're a politically incorrect person.
What the fella simply was doing was calling everyone's attention to the fact that he was denied service simply because the person running the station didn't like what he looked like. Other people heard about this and are vowing not to do business with that place ever again. That is what this nation is all about. The right to address these matters and choose who we do business with.
It's too bad that we have some Democrat plants (and yes, Chancellor Palpatine whather you like it being said or not you are indeed a Democrat plant) who are choosing to have a problem with people like myself being called to attention on this matter so we'll know who not to do business with. NOBODY wants to do business with someone with a bad attitude like that. There is no getting along with people who want to deny service to those simply because they don't like what they stand for or what their politics are. This fella needs to be put out of business for this kind of attitude and I'm sure people will notice this and take their business elsewhere.
As I've said people do have a right to deny service to whoever they want but we as consumers also have the right not to do business with these people also.
Regards.
Not yet. The security video is going to be examined.
I thought it was famous enough, since Donovan was the Gipper's Labor Secretary.
"Where do I go to get my reputation back?"
At the Customer Service counter. Please have your receipt or you will receive a store credit only.
While I agree with you, there are some pinheaded bureaucrats in Washington DC at the EEOC and Civil Rights Division of the Justice Dept. who wouldn't.

EXACTLY why I wanted to post this in the first place.
HoustonCurmudgeon, God bless you. I have a few gripes about the Republican Party myself that arent all that flattering to their supposed efforts. A few years back, I tried to get involved with the Women's branch, and got used and abused by the socialites that run the club. I went in with the purpose to become involved with a local campaign or get a better understanding of how the public sector works, and instead I was treated to snobbery. Very little is being done by these people to reach out to ALL levels of society in this county, mostly because they believe they will not have to work for it.
Jon Matthews says a lot of things that I agree with. If he cuts you off, its because 1) HE's the host of a radio show and YOU are not! 2) He has topics he would like to stay on and ramblings from people who want to debate details only serve to create chaos on a show. I have listened to enough radio to understand that some callers are not as focused and have an agenda of their own, and its not always to debate a subject but to browbeat someone because they are saying something that isnt liked.
If you think you can do better, have your own radio show for the area that you want.
Sounds like the guy wanted to give the soldier free gas.
Ya know, I think he could do that, except he couldn't point his finger at you. (not THAT finger!)
If the clerk shorted the till he could be cited by the owner and/or fired.
I did a mapquest search and cannot find Rayford in Houston. Since there is a fireworks sand next to the station, this is clearly outside the Houston city limits. Can you give more details (I45 North/South, Pasadena area, Woodlands, etc...)?
Thanks for the ping.
and in that light, I find what he said to be rather asinine in regards to this situation. The clerk was representing Conoco. His hatred of a young man wearing our nations military PTs COULD have been kept in check. But he had to open his stupid mouth. Whatever reputation he has now, he deserves it. He got his sh*thead into that, not the Army private. The private made an attempt to do the right thing, and the clerk abused him for it. The clerk deserves to be fired.
All of us have worked on jobs and done things that got us fired, and for the most part the firing was deserved.
You guys are all so twisted, I can't believe this. I expected better. I thought there were military people here who would understand. I thought there were military people who deserve to know that they are supported on ALL levels, especially when a puke in a gas station tells a soldier that he is a murderer.
As if September 11, 2001 never happened.
Are people hearing what they want to hear? I'll wait till its in print. I am sure it will be very soon.
When you're making a living for yourself, one thing you don't ever do is give stuff away for free. That's just plain atupid and idiotic.
(LOL)Oh well, I don't live down there, I live in Southwest Oklahoma so i don't know. Just my two cents......:-D
