[history]
Republicans say they were robbed of the Maine Senate because Democrats successfully challenged ballots with votes cast by pen instead of pencil and ballots with Mickey Mouse as a write-in for a judge's race.
A recount was called for the open race between Republican Leslie Fossel and Democrat Christopher Hall. As a result, 44 ballots were disputed and not counted.

The votes should be counted in the way Maine has settled these disputes in the past. Does anyone know how that has been done? The article quotes a Democratic party official on the subject, but Democrats are not always reliable.
At any rate, counting red ink, but not black or blue ink is plain wrong. All ballots marked with ink should be treated the same.

The Rats only want to "count every vote" if it allows them to win. Otherwise they will do ANYTHING to win.

"I'm a liberal Democrat. I started in Florida politics. I worked for George McGovern. I worked for Jimmy Carter. I've worked for Ted Kennedy, Mario Cuomo. Nobody can question, I think, my credentials and my convictions. But I have to tell you, at this point it's hard to believe, but my party, the party that [my family has] belonged to since my great-great-grandfather, ... has become no longer a party of principles, but has been hijacked by a CONFEDERACY OF GANGSTERS who need to take power by whatever means and whatever canards they can."

I am thrilled to see this getting the ink it needs. Nationally I hope that every one of the stolen races gets a inquiry by the press.

Let's see which is first with the RATS in control of all four branches of government:
Hillary Care- Single payer here we come $3,000 per employee and $6k per employee from each employer
Tax Reform- Do you prefer higher sales tax, higher income tax, higher excise tax or local sales tax? or all 4. It's for the children's education you know.
National Park- with a casino at the entrance. The paper companies are leaving anyways.
Higher Cig Taxes- It's for their health care costs
More immigration- we're too white as it is and think of all that federal grant money for welfare and jobs for the welfare industry.
So what if Bath Iron works gets downsized, we don't support that politically incorrect defense industry anyways.

Oops I forgot one:
Brunswick Air station- Is that going to close with the first or second military base downsizing.
Portsmouth Naval Station- ditto above.
I hope the EX Gov King Enjoys his cross country jaunt in his new RV, He'll come back just in time to witness the next mass exodus on Mainers.

Golly gee, you two cynics don't think the Rats will do the right thing and count all the votes?
Neither do I.

A bump for the truth in Maine.

The only reason this is a big deal is that it will determine control of the chamber," Ms. Phillips said. The only reason this is a big deal is that someone finally turned the spotlight on.
In the distant future, economics textbooks will probably have cautionary chapters entitled "The Maine Example."

Brunswick is unlikely to close, since it is the last base to cover the North Atlantic and it has little air traffic, so great for training. Portsmouth is another story. It was going to be closed back in the early 70s, but politics kept it open and may do so again. Snow and Collins are the key. Good chip to play for their votes.

It's the Clinton-ization of the DemonRatic party. No scruples, no morals. Cheat, steal, lie, say whatever it takes to "win." Pay for votes, register the dead, let any illegal immigrant register to vote and encourage them to vote democrat. Hell, help them with the absentee ballot application and have the ballot sent to the local DNC headquarters. Go from "count every ballot" and "interpret every dangling, pregnated chad" to throw away the Republican votes because they were checked in pen.
What a joke. What a hypocracy the Demonrats have become.

The closings will be more jobs lost. You should have seen the devestation to our economy in Aroostook County when Loring Air Force Base closed up here! The area is STILL trying to recover, and it's been 8 years! Hard on us retirees, too, let me tell ya!
