Brunswick is unlikely to close, since it is the last base to cover the North Atlantic and it has little air traffic, so great for training. Portsmouth is another story. It was going to be closed back in the early 70s, but politics kept it open and may do so again. Snow and Collins are the key. Good chip to play for their votes.

I beg to differ. Snowe and Collins mouthed a good game to keep Loring Air Force Base open, but that's all it was. A good MOUTH! They don't have the pull they THINK they have.

But, of course, since there are "two Maines," and they could care less about northern Maine, they will probably have pull to keep the ones open in southern Maine. We can't even get an interstate on up here. Everything is for southern Maine! We may as well be in CANADA!
