When I was growing-up Halloween was a fun time to dress in costumes, go to the neighbors for "trick or treat," soap windows, bob for apples, and tell ghost stories. At the time, it all seemed so harmless; little did we know that we were actually celebrating Satan's holiday. Halloween was, and is, subtle exposure to the occult. Regardless of All Hallows Eve, today our schools are blatantly introducing cultic activities to our young people, such as séances, New Age meditation, and witchcraft.
Most recently, McNear Elementary School in Petaluma City, California decided that their fourth-graders were going to celebrate the dead in a weeklong classroom ritual commemorating the Mexican holiday "El Dia de los Muertos," (Day of the Dead). The holiday will be observed as an alternative to Halloween. The children are instructed to bring in pictures or write memories of deceased family members, friends or pets. These items will be put on an ofrenda (altar) that has been created for this purpose.

Ah... the beauties of "multi-culturalism". What I want to know is when does "Cinco de Mayo" become a national holiday?

There's nothing wrong with Dia de Los Muertos. I grew up with it in New Mexico. It's worth knowing about as a America is, after all, a New World country.
It is a well-respected and established Catholic Holiday throughout the Southwest. ('Course at my public school, at the end of 'La Posada' on Christmas Eve, the creche was in the school gym...)

The author is correct about how the Satanists are taking over the public schools but it is a mistake to think this hasn't long been the case. The bobbing for apples was just one means to introduce Satanism to young people.

Hmmm. So those of us who will celebrate the day by celebrating our ancestors and talking about old Uncle Joe and Grandmother Hilda and great-great-grandfather Miles are part of Satan's plot, but those who teach kids to go beg candy from strangers are good Christians, is that the idea?

The bobbing for apples was just one means to introduce Satanism to young people. Would you mind explaining to me how bobbing for apples is a gateway to Satanism?

I prefer bobbing for french fries. Doesn't sticking your face in that hot oil sting a little bit?

For most people halloween is just an opportunity to party, have fun, eat candy and watch a scary movie. Obviously for some people it is a lot more than that. Next year my wife are going to a heavy metal show dressed as Gomez and Tish.

Ooh Hot Wheels cars that look like pimped out lowriders with Oingo Boingo cover art on them. Gosh what a threat to American culture.
Day of the Dead comes a lot closerto the Catholic concept of All Saints Day than anything in the "traditional" American Halloween celebration.

"The Bible celebrates everlasting LIFE not death."
Re-read your Bible. You don't get your ever-lasting existance until after you are DEAD.
Satan had no part in early Samhain rituals. Not until the Christians started attributing him with it.
The Devil is your boogey-man. Keep him to your damn self.

Every year you Thumpers come crawling out of the woodwork on this one. Every year you are made to look like complete fools when Satan completely fails to take over America.
You guys are almost funny.

When I saw the title, I figured it was about the Wellstone memorial service.

Uh, maybe you should reread it, particular John 6:47. He who believes HAS everlasting life.

Funny. You better head off to those grave yards and start digging all those people out of the boxes.

because of an alien culture moving rapidly in my direction Well, that's the funny thing, in my part of New Mexico, the people celebrating the Catholic 'All Saints Day' were here before The Mayflower even landed.
The Mexican Dia De Los Muertos was an alien culture to the Spanish here in the late 16th century. The Spanish Conquistadors subsumed it as Dia de los Muertos with a Catholic flavor--just like the church in Europe took the Celtic Holiday Samhain and made it All Saints Day.
So which is the true holiday? The Festival of Baal? The Festival of Dionysis? Samhain? All Souls Day? Day of the Dead? or Dia de Los Muertos?
You don't know your history.
To: All
This article is extremely ignorant about Day of the Dead.
And I say this as a person that does not like Satanic undertones in Halloween.
That is why I am celebrating REFORMATION DAY, which is also today.
