I'm a little concerned....

Posted on 10/10/2002 12:40:59 PM PDT by JimThayner

umm...I'm a little concerned about some stuff on this website. why do we call democrats 'rats? they call us "repugnants" I think we're above that kind of childish namecalling. I think we're coming down a little too hard on the liberals too. I'm an Independent, and I try to find the truth. well, the TRUTH is that 90% of the time, conservatives are correct. why do i voice opposition? Aren't we above all this stuff that the democrats do? I think we need to prove to America that WE are controlled, clear thinking, intelligent, and sophistacted people. NOT people who go and cheer and jeer at the other side. my suggestion is this: Instead of going out to cheer and geer at the democrats, we should go out and do community service projects, hand out fliers, and do stuff to help the community. THAT is what will separate us from the democrats. WE spend our time living what we chant about, the democrats spend their time chanting all the time. Talkting instead of DOING. I think we need to go beyond a "political party." I DO believe that the liberals will destroy our country if not stopped. However, i don't want us to destroy it in the process of trying to stop them. Lets show them up: do work for others, and such. Organize relief for disaster victims. (headlines: FreeRepublic first on site rendering aid to distaster victims, liberals shocked at being shown how much jerks liberals are" Spend less time and money on trying to talk the liberals to death with reason (obviously that won't work). Spend time DOING. My father knew California State Assemlyman Brian (B.T.) Collins since they were in Boy Scouts together. Look up BT Collins. he was a POPULAR Republican in CALIFORNIA! He spent his time helping other people, and used the phrase "is the world any better because you were in it?" I would like to offer my own version: "Is america better off because of the Republican Party's majority?" What do you all think about this? BTW, don't worry, I'm not a liberal. jim

If it looks like a rat, sneaks about like a rat, smells like a rat and figures a way to do anything underhanded or illegal to gain an advantage, chances are that it is a demorat.

Maybe you're right. Why don't we stop all the name calling and labeling of people who do not share our same political and idealogical beliefs.

I am going to stop calling them Democrats and start calling them what they are - SCUMBAGS

We (Republicans - Conservatives, etc.) are members of political parties.

We're not the Salvation Army. Democrats are fighting dirty, cheating, and lying. And you want us to do community service work so they can cheat easier? You want us to quit so no one is out there to counter democrat lies? Never. We'll fight them every step of the way. It's time for you to join a group the reads to shut-ins and leave the defending to us.

I think we need to go beyond a "political party."

I'm not sure how many NHL players are American citizens!

My educated guess is about 25%. The rest come from countries where the Rats would be right at home.

I agree with you 100%. I'm soooo tired of newbies ( read liberals) coming here to "reform" us. If they don't know what the fights about, how did they find this site in the first place? Think about it....

"If you don't like or aprove of what you find here, newbie, leave. You don't own this site, haven't been here long enough to question what is done here, and there is absolutely NO advantage to being " civil " about the rats ."

"To wit: Both conservatives and liberals want to end crime and poverty."

No they don't. Rats (yes, rats) NEED crime and particularly poverty, or there is no need for rats. Rats just want the issues to use again, and again, and again, every election season. They never intend to solve the problems they whine about; they do everything they can to preserve, and even to worsen, those very same problems.

jesus doesn't hate anyone. I went to a Lutheran Missouri Synod school. hate is satan, who hates us all anyway. I thought that salvation was unconditional, all we had to do was accept it? as a result of love for God we do good works.

It reads like that fake liberal modesty. You know, like um when they condescend to conservatives and try to talk in their "oh so cute" ways. I'm with you, it's annoying.

Um, why do you use "um" when you're writing? Um, you know, there's, like, no, you know, need to type every stuttering, um, utterance that, like, comes out of your, you know, mouth when you're, like, typing.

They divide Americans, and declare people of different political beliefs to be practically mortal enemies, and not citizens of the same country who are, by and large, working towards the same goals, but with different means.

The Demon RATS want to enslave the people in this country by making them dependent on welfare and other social handouts.

The Republicans want to get everybody off of their lazy welfare butts and get them out working and earning an honest wage to support themselves instead of depending on Uncle Sugar and his welfare gravy train.

The Demon RATS want to have the federal gubmint involved in every aspect of your life. Remember "It Takes A Village"? The Demon RATS think if Tommy has two daddies, that's better than good. They want to indoctrinate all children at an early level.

The Republicans (at least at the grass root level) want to eliminate all of the gubmint intrusion into your life. It DOESN'T take a village to raise a child. If you want to raise a good kid, a married mother and father can and should be able to raise their own children and teach them a sense of morality, decency, and common sense.

The Demon RATS want to tax the "rich" (anyone who isn't on welfare) into a state of poverty where they are forced onto the welfare roles and become dependent on social programs.

Republicans (again, at least on the grass root level) want the gubmint out of your wallet.

The Demon RATS want to scare people into believing that if they vote anything other than Demon RAT, they will lose all of the welfare bennies they have become dependent on. After all, Demon RATS are only concerned with staying in office.

Republicans ininiated term limits and actually abide by them to prove that they aren't solely interested in maintaining a power base, but are instead more interested in making a change for the better.

Demon RATS are people who join PETA, GreenPeace, NAMBLA, Gun Control Inc., and complain that AFLAC commercials with a talking duck are degrading to ducks and damaging to their self esteem. Demon RATS think Streisand is a talented singer and actually by her albums. They think Alec Baldwin is a good actor, and think Hitlery is attractive and would make a good candidate for President of the U.S.

Republicans are people who join the NRA, the Boy Scouts of America, go to church on a regular basis, actually attend classes in college instead of spending all day everyday protesting everything under the sun. Republicans think the Aflac duck is funny, but wouldn't hesitate to shoot him down during duck season and serve him up for Sunday dinner. Republicans would rather have an angry badger in their underwear than listen to 10 seconds of that screech owl Streisand. Republicans realize that every kid in their child's 1st grade play is a much more talented actor than Alec Baldwin. Republicans acknowledge the very real probability that Hitlery is the antichrist and her looks are hideous enough to revive the old jokes about shaving the dog's butt and teaching it to walk backwards because it's so ugly. Republicans would rather be victims of spontaneous human combustion than even think about another Klinton in the white house.

Gee, I'm not sure I would agree with you. It doesn't look to me like the Demon RATS and the Republicans are "by and large, working towards the same goals..."

LOL!

Considering Jim "Hanoi Jane" McDermott and "Baghdad" Bonaire, "RATBOY" is the poster child of the dims.

She's our self-appointed Emily Post...asking people to leave anytime they appear to be new and post opinions not necessarily aligned with her 'conservative' thoughts.

I agree, she's out of line.

You said it better. Thanks for putting down the truth.

The namecalling may not be productive - but I'll tell you what else isn't productive. The courtesy, civility and deference you advocate would be nice, if we were talking about an honest disagreement.

The problem is that the Left in this country lost the last of its ethical scruples during the Clinton administration.

Nothing a leftist says can be trusted, and no promise they make can be taken for granted.

Yes, he did.

Do some try to run off everyone that is new here?

Sure does look that way. (If you don't agree with me, go back to DU!).

Hockey players as a group are the last of the unaffected professional atheletes. I happened to visit my niece (she's home and fine today) in United-Children's Hospital Pediatric ICU ward last week - what an eye opener. Apparently members of the Wild front office and their players are regular visitors and financial donors to that Wing. The toughest guys on that squad ... Blouin, Johnson, Brown, Marshall and Audette are the most regular visitors of all.

Should I stop calling Mrs. Clinton Hitlery?

Yes, immediately. Her appropriate title is the Hildebeest, or She-beast for short.
