I'm beginning to think the "New Tone" thing was a give 'em enough rope to hang themselves "strategery". The less fuss that was made, the more emboldened and outrageous the Dem's claims have become. McBaghdad was icing on the cake IMHO, Their true motive, power at any cost, has been exposed for all to see and it's not playing too well with the populace.

Their true motive, power at any cost, has been exposed for all to see and it's not playing too well with the populace.

I'm not sure that sweeping references to "the populace" are quite warranted. The Dems are still getting plenty of cover from most of the media. One of the media watchdog orgs did a report on the coverage of Daschle's Pink Tie Rant, for example, and found that Fox News, and a couple of newspapers, were the only sources that reported the full context of the remarks by Bush that Dasshole and the Grand Wizard were misrepresenting. Dems still get the best of the big media spin, and huge numbers of Americans still buy into it.

Nevertheless, I agree that the "new tone" approach is wearing away at the effectiveness of traditional Dem and pro-Dem media tactics, and slowly undermining the stereotype of "mean spirited" Republicans. Even if it is only having marginal effects, well, elections, and culture wars, are often won or lost on the margins.

I don't know. Where can I find that information? I'd love to have it for my commentary.

It works because Bush isn't looking for a 100% conversion of the populace. He has 40% in the bag already with his base, the Dem's control another 40%, and he's looking to build in the majority in the remaining 20% of the fence setters. Take half + 1% there and your talking possible landslide elections (in picking up seats in Congress) with very long coattails.

Truth only frustrates and subsequently emboldens the rats to strike out like a badger on PCP.

I am predicting violence at our polling places this election cycle. It will take place about two hours before poll closing, causing petitions to activist judges to force polls to remain open. I am sure they are already rehersing their tactics in New Jersey warehouses. It will take place in every district which is tight. Scripts are being handed out for the news camera interviews as certain as the sun will rise.

It's the pink tie rule. How can you hammer a guy wearing a pink tie? BTW, does anyone know why Daschle always looks like he uses a deep fryer as a facial sauna? He's always got that shiny greasy skin look. Is he applying some sort of stem cell fetus oil to his skin for that Dorrian Gray look for all of eternity or something?

Whoo Hoo! What a winner! Thanks for the heads up and the link!
Must agree with the statement on the website, the Pubbies have tried to present a positive attitude to the nation, which is why the President's ratings are high IMHO! Americans prefer that over the caustic rages of the dark side!

Hold that thought. Your fun is just beginning.

I made a modest donation ($100) to the RNC back in January (I usually donate either direct to candidates or to my local GOP organization). Since then, I have been inundated with gimmicky requests for more and more and more and more money. I figure they have spent every nickel I gave them, and maybe more, not fighting democraps -- but in soliciting more money from me!

I'll continue to work hard for the ticket, but will think twice before I send'em another check.

Not only is Racicot a classy representative when he goes on TV to speak for the Republicans, the entire operation seems to be more responsive. When I called they already had a raft of material ready to go on Lautenberg.
