"Let's roll" with our HEADLIGHTS ON this 9/11

We have little more than a week left to get the word out across this great land we love and call the United States of America.

On Wednesday, September 11, 2002, all Americans who will be driving a motor vehicle are being asked to do so with their HEADLIGHTS ON.

Contact the newspaper in your town or at your school. Call the television and radio stations in your area. Inform your elected representatives. Pass the word at your place of employment. Tell your family, friends and neighbors. Send this e-mail to people. Discuss this event in chatrooms and on message boards.

No explanation is needed as to why we are commemorating September 11 in this fashion. However, we hope to pay respect to the victims of that day, display our nation's solidarity, and, show support for our men and women in the Armed Forces.

JD, much as I appreciate your spirit, there is nothing lamer than a "let's all drive with our headlights on" movement. Many of the newer cars have headlights that stay on all the time anyway, and nobody will notice a few extra older cars with lights on.

there's almost always an unintended consequence when libs get silly... something like fish dying trying to eat the candles or a life boat full of hippes being crushed while playing chicken with a 100,000 ton barge, trying to get the captain to avoid the ice cubes because it might blow out the candles

True enough. But the media put that down the memory hole.

I went into Appleton to see his grave a couple months ago. The papers will never tell you this, not in a million years, but McCarthy's memory is revered by a great many in this area. These were his friends and relatives in the Fox Valley; they knew the man and weren't fooled by the hype.

Like others who grew up listening to the liberal media, I also believed he was the villain his name has become synonymous with.
Now I realize he wasn't... but I doubt the media will ever admit that.

Anyone who doubts this should read The Venona Secrets, which I read last summer.
