Who's your favorite in Conservative Talk Radio?
Vanity

I have noticed the broad spectrum of "conservative" opinions that emerge from the threads on this website. There is a similar diversity of "conservative" thought in talk radio, and I was wondering which of the preeminent talk hosts you identify most with - and, of course, why you choose that particular spokesman over the others.

... WNIS 790 has a great line up. Macrini, Boortz, et al. Mark Davis on Sunday is a good listen. Savage is entertaining, though I tune him out sometimes to listen to jazz on WHRV. Hope I can get good talk radio in Charlotte, NC, where I will soon be living...

"but the problem is not immigrants, it is that immigrants are not being properly taught what it means to be American. Multiculturalism is the problem - not immigration."

I think you are confusing the two issues. Illegal Immigration and Multiculturalism are both part of the problem. I am afraid you are naive when it comes to "properly" teaching these ILLEGAL aliens what it means to be an American. First step of being an American is respect for the law.

Do any good conservative or informational talk shows come on at night?

I work in a very noisy environment and cannot pick up AM radio (at all) during the day.

I throw into the hopper the name of my friend and colleague, Phil Paleologos, and his "American Breakfast," 5- 9 a.m., M-F. He is as conservative as any other host, but he is also a gentleman in every sense of the word. Good humored, gracious, and polite to every guest on the show, he has a large and growing following of people who like to be talked to, not shouted at.

Here's the link for the show:

Rush still rocks! Hannity is also good but he's not in this area yet.

I agree with you. I love Michael Savage too. I enjoy Rush and always have. Ken Hamblin, Sean Hannity and Neil Boortz are good too, I just don't get them consistently. Rush is good for thinking through the issues as he addresses them in a very logical and rational way. He throws humor in the mix regularly, which not only lightens things up, but also reiterates, from a different angle, some of the issues. And I love the way Rush uses the liberals own words to make his points and to make them look stupid.

Savage, on the other hand, serves more like a town crier, the watchman on the wall who has a clear vision of where we are heading if some serious changes aren't made in the way we are doing some thngs and he just wants America to wake the h*ll up. He has a point. It never seems to matter how much crap we swallow as Americans, whether it be from the liberals, the terrorists, the illegals or whatever, it seems we somehow adjust and in a few days it's back to business as usual. The outrageous and profane and even downright threatening has becaome so commonplace that we have become numb. But Savage shouts out with passion that is hopefully contagious, telling it like it is, not mincing words. His message might succeed where others fail when it comes to rousing America from complacency. Anger is a powerful motivator that can stir the will like little else. Maybe if enough of us get mad enough we will take our country back. And his words, "borders, language and culture," says volumes.

I like it when he tells the liberal idiots who call in to, "go gargle with Rogaine and grow hair on your tongue."

LOL. Savage goes over the top sometimes but he is very good when he is good.

About the only decent political talk show that I hear late at night is Jim Bohanan, other than that all we get is Art Bell.

I love Savage's phrases like "Red Diaper Doper Baby" and "Clipped-haired, Big-jawed, Mean-faced types". His "Hollywood Idiot of the Day" segments are always good.

Rush is the best... but, there's no one like Arizona's own Barry Young ...

Hugh Hewitt and Michael Medved are excellent also.

He is pretty good, isn't he? Some don't like him because he isn't a good mold of a country club Republican. He is pissed off and quit honestly if you aren't pissed off right now you aren't a true conservative in my opinion.

I have to agree. He has one of the best minds ever to grace the earth. His insight and analysis are priceless.

"one of the best minds ever to grace the earth" my foot, do you spend all your waking hours around toddlers? You should widen your circle of acquaintances and include some with intelect to experience true wisdom, seriously.

I can't get him here in Florida but my mother swears by Bob Grant. She says he is the most informed and intelligent out of them all, and is always able to refute liberal arguments. I don't know where to get him on the internet.

I forgot to mention David Newman. He is my favorite locally (Detroit area).

I also miss David. Although he could be a real pompous ass. There also was a very sassy, funny lady who liked to call herself "the Black, female Rush Limbaugh," Marie Kegler-something-mumblemumble (I can't remember the second part of her hyphenated last name)

Now, does that make me an "angry white male"?

But how will this make us look? What will the others think. barf. I'm with you. If you aren't angry something is wrong with you in my opinion.

Excellent description of Savage. In my opinion, being motivated by fear is taking the low road. The high road is taking the risk of standing up for what you know is right no matter if it is unpopular and speaking the truth, no matter who doesn't want to hear it. We do still have the freedom to turn the radio off and no one is compelled to listen to him if they choose not to. Given his ratings, I'd say a lot more Americans are listening than are admitting it.
