Who's your favorite in Conservative Talk Radio?
Vanity

Posted on 08/29/2002 5:47:00 PM PDT by Arch-Conservative

I have noticed the broad spectrum of "conservative" opinions that emerge from the threads on this website. There is a similar diversity of "conservative" thought in talk radio, and I was wondering which of the preeminent talk hosts you identify most with - and, of course, why you choose that particular spokesman over the others.

Hey, how about Rollye James? Used to get her out of San Diego, then those dopes booted her. Now you can listen in the evenings here:

http://www.rollye.net/listen.html

Not all political, though. I do love it when she lets a caller go, with her speedy "ok-bye!

Rush is the greatest, but I find myself tuning in to Laura Ingraham, too. Witty, and does a great Clinton.

To my mind, Limbaugh is still the undisputed Godfather of Talk Radio.

I have to agree. He has one of the best minds ever to grace the earth. His insight and analysis are priceless. And that's even with half his brain tied behind his back!

My wife and I have enjoyed Rush since 88 or 89 when he broke down the barrier to conservatives on talk radio. We even sponsored his two Rush To Excellance Tours to Eureka and purchased time on his show because I knew the socialist business here would not advertise with him. Next my wife likes Hannity but I prefer Michael Medved because of his ability to bring liberal guests to their knees. I haven't been able to listen to him this summer for various reasons. We really enjoy Walter Williams as a sub for Rush.

BTW not only did Rush make two Rush Tours here he came out twice for the Redwood Reagion Logging Conference.

When Walter E. Williams fills in for Rush, that's my favorite. I wish WEW had his own show.

neither one is completely conservative

Boy, is that an understatement.

They love McCain--one of them is even writing a book about McCain, his hero.

They're liberals.

Totally agree...Jim Quinn stands head and shoulders above all the rest...easily the most informative talk radio to be found anywhere.

He espouses the Buchanan version of conservatism, which is not necessarily conservative. .
Multiculturalism is the problem - not immigration.

Disagree with you here. This country never had a problem with multiculturalism. It was made great by its 'melting pot society' Pat's conservative in my book, always was, always will be. Conservatism is viewed in the eye of the beholder.

Rusty Humpheries or Tony Schnitt. Both these hosts are rather localized (Rusty is in Reno, with a network broadcast on weekends on the West Coast, Schnitt is South Florida). Both are a good deal more agreeable to listen to than Glenn Beck, who has a real attitude problem and can give a caller a really rough time on occasion.

I LOVE Michael Savage. I didn't like him when I first listened to him but I've given it another chance and I LOVE him. He keeps me fired up and angry and pissed off. I live in the Bay Area and all of that is necessary to keep going. I really think that it depends on where you live. Here our lives depend on people like Michael Savage because of all the total "crap" that is out there day after day after day in the "media".

My favorite is of course is the Maha Rushie. I also listen to Hannity, O'Reilly, Beck, and Savage on a regular basis. My favorite guest hosts are Walter Williams and Willie Cunningham when they fill in for Rush. The one's that I listen to the weekend when I can are Mike Gallager, Michael Medved, and Drudge.

Hi bmwcyle!...haven't seen you in a while.
(Is it you or is it me?)

Anyway.
Mine is Neal Boortz.
He was doing the 'no guest', conservative, real thought thing for 19 years in Atlanta before Rush hit the scene. (followed Neal's 9-12 slot on WGST in fact)
He was (and is) Arnold Palmer to Rush's Jack Nicholas.

Rush is more consistant and is King....but Neal can get you more riled up.
(and that's sometime a very good thing)

Hannity is Limbaughesque in his opinions, and has a charm and grace within his presentation that is vital to conservatism.

Hannity!!! whooohooo! baby!

And conservative too, to boot!

;-)

Unfortunately I don't get the Talkmaster where I'm at, but I do read Neal's Nuze on a daily basis. I figure he is as funny on his show than he is on his website.

Most favorite: Rush and Laura Ingraham.

Least favorite: Michael Savage and G. Gordon Liddy (between them they constitute the festering sewer in the conservative village--their shows are about THEM, first and foremost).

LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD: Dr. Laura.
