Petition to the President of the United States and Members of Congress
I speak as an American citizen. The recent decision of the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco where the Pledge of Allegiance was ruled Unconstitutional is an attack on America by way of the legal system. We are indeed "One Nation Under God."
To declare that anyone who pledges allegiance to the Flag of our Country is breaking the law is to declare the President of the United States and every member of Congress to be law breakers.
It has become abundantly clear that the two judges that voted for this must be impeached and removed from office. Please use the authority that you have been invested with and immediately vote to impeach judges Stephen Reinhardt and Alfred Goodwin.

How can we tell how many are signing?
That helps a lot when getting people going on it ... I have found that people watch those numbers ... read the comments ... it gets them enthused and they go out and find more to sign.
That's the one I wrote ... check out signature number one.
Semper FI!
Spread the ord to all you know because I believe thisone will really be a mover ... and ell it should be.
That may well be ... but it has nothing whatsoever to do with the appellate court decision announced yesterday. It said that Congress did not follow the Constitution in 1954 when it inserted "under God" in the Pledge.
It's not that those who take a thus altered Pledge are "breaking the law." It's that the law is what is violating the Constitution. Whether you agree or not, that was the ruling.
To top such failure to read what was done with a call for impeachment -- because of a decision you dislike, rather than malfeasance or misbehavior -- compounds the absurdity.
To believe in the "value" of always-unread, bit-bucket-bound Internet petitions -- a step of uselessness beyond paper petitions, which at least can be photographed on the Capitol steps -- is to put a cherry on top of it all.

And, it was on the SAME DAY that Lee Greenwood's new song was released, "I Pleadge Allegiance."
According to a caller in to the Drudge Radio Show tonight, the mom and daughter are Christians who did not support the father's lawsuit!
Wow. If this is true, this should be VERY interesting!
ppaul, please note Daddy Newdow's comments below. I'm searching for anything but little luck. I would love to find the guest list for the Today show that aired today! Can anyone help?

Michael Newdow, the atheist activist who brought the suit challenging the Pledge of Allegiance as unconstitutional, claimed in the suit that he was trying to protect his grade school daughter from being forced to sit and listen while her teachers led other students in the pledge.
Newdow told Fox News that his 8-year-old daughter voluntarily says the pledge along with her classmates. He also said--quote--"this is more about me than her. I'd like to keep her out of this."
IS THAT A CLUE???
