Given the carping and nasty nature of FR as of late, I thought it might be a good time to see the more civil and gracious side of participants. Here is a thread for just that purpose to edify, encourage, and thank.
Ever wanted to thank that unsung FR hero? Agree or disagree, why not tell JohnHuang2 or Registered how much you appreciate their skills. And can you imagine the many hours Alamo-Girl puts into her work? Perhaps you appreciate how well the folks over at Word For The Day wield their words. Or maybe you just want to tell WIMom and her gang that youre sorry for all your unkind words about the recent Freepathon ads, and thank her for all her hard work on that. Maybe you are an FR Radio fan. Well, you get the idea.
What this thread is NOT for: complaints against the management, flaming those you disagree with, bashing the current administration, leaving your opus, whinning about someone being banned, criticizing FR spelling, grammar, or sentence structure, calling out newbies (unless they are disrupting this thread, of course), shilling for your candidacy, carping about a particular regular thread. Well, you get the idea.
Freep on
..
P.S. No, Im not fishing for compliments. Ive already been called every name in the book here on FR, and toothless hag is still my personal favorite.

anniegetyourgun, thanks for posting this thread!
palo verde, Thank You for inviting me here, and ultimately rescuing me from that awful place we were previously. Thanks for restoring my faith in human nature while we were there . . .
JohnHuang2, thanks for inviting me into some great threads.
one_particular_harbour, thanks for demonstrating to me that my own personal opinions were not always as valid as I thought they are. Thanks for cutting me down to size when I needed it. Please continue to do so as you see fit.
Snow Bunny, thanks for your tireless efforts on the Canteen threads. You are truely a gem. FreeRepublic is a better place to be through your efforts.
Admin Moderator, thank you for teaching me patience by example. Those who would criticise your efforts would do well to visit other forums and note how they are "moderated".
billbears, thank you so much for your tireless efforts on the Daily Prayer thread.
4ConservativeJustices, ditto. Christians would do well to follow your example.
BADJOE, thanks for all you "behind the scenes" efforts here at FreeRepublic. Know that your efforts are appreciated.
Squantos, thanks for the most interesting post on THIS thread!
christine11, thanks for all your efforts to keep be abreast of things via the private e-mails. Your efforts to do so are appreciated and welcomed.
mhking, thanks for providing me with insights to points of view I hadn't considered.
Pokey78, the ACPL is a treasure. Thanks for including me.
uglybiker, the HOOLIGAN related posts are always fun. Original credit goes to you on that one; thanks!
Kevin Curry, you were right about BeachDude. Feel free to stop me from being a putz in the future . . .
Peacerose, keep the Outrage threads coming. I appreciate your efforts.
To all those whom I've neglected or forgotten, I extend my apologies for doing so.
Prior to registering here, I laboured under the mistaken assumption that I would most likely be torn to shreds by other members when posting contrasting opinions. I am quite happy to say my initial impressions of this forum and it's members were dead wrong. Thanks go out to all the posters who've helped dispel them. This place is filled with some of the most intelligent people I've had the pleasure to witness.
Group hug . . .

I just want to make sure that both of you are publicly recognized for being the first two persons to endorse the President for reelection in 2004. Although our EEC (EARLY ENDORSEMENT CLUB) is still small, the inclusion of the two of you in the vanguard of this movement means that there can be no outcome but success.

Thinking back...it all started when Grammie was having a hot flash standing bare naked in front of an open window. She's such a hussie. And YOU dear fellow were almost speechless. Oh what the Dose has done to all of us.
Thank you for bringing back that lovely memory.

I love you

Cool idea for a thread.
I'd just like to say I've especially enjoyed many of ya'lls posts in this forum.
When we've disagreed, you've both been very well-reasoned and to the point.
Unfortunately, we've also agreed, too (I hate to agree with people, as you may have noticed, I'm just the combative type). I'm so radical and unconventional in most of my views, it's often hard to find people to have discussions with.
Thanks for your considered, reasoned posts regarding some of my ramblings. I can't wait to disagree with ya'll again.
I know, how about -- "Linux is a Communist Plot"?
:-D
Yes, of course, I'm kidding!

I want to thank these three freepers. We will probably never agree on who to vote for as president. We come from different political camps. We have locked horns on Free Republic and probably will some threads.
Yet I can learn from these 3 gentlemen.
glutton is a self admitted tree hugger from Tree Hugger Capitol, Eugene Oregon. Glutton and I are both against those in the enviral movement who advocate and participate in acts of violence. Glutton gives me/us an inside look at an enviral with a conscience and those that both of us detest.
Sneaky Pete is about as grouchy as I am. However, Pete served with honor in Nam, and was a Spec Ops guy. I know that I can trust what he has to say about the military in his unique and grouchy manner.
Willie and I have tangled re presidents and who isn't president. Willie has an excellent knowledge on past, present and future oil/gas supplies here and in the world. He knows a great deal on atomic energy and how it can help us. When there is a question or possibly so wrong oil/gas info posted on Free Republic, I page Willie as he usually has the correct data to things back on track.
These men are three Freepers who are totally different in where they come and where I come from. They are working in their way to improve America, not destroy it. I thank them!
