Way too many vanity threads lately. And way too much trash being posted. Please try to stay on topic (politics). Also, please do a search on a significant word from the title of your article before posting. This will reduce the number of duplicates. And, along these same lines, please use the original titles on your article posts. Do NOT edit the titles. Do NOT use "My Title" titles. This will also help to reduce the number of duplicates.
And, whatever else you do, please DO NOT post from DEMOCRATS UNDERGROUND (or any other such trashy un-American socialist hangout). Free Republic was intended to be a socialist free zone. We've gone to a heck of a lot of trouble to make it that way. Why in the world would you think we would be interested in having their trash posted here?
And QUIT trashing each other. You know who you are. Knock it off! Way too many flamewars and feuds going on. And, while I'm thinking about it, QUIT trashing our conservative candidates. If you want to criticize someone's position on some policy, have at it. But do not trash or smear the man. That would include Browne, Buchanan, Bush, Keyes, et al, or whomever else may be your favorite trashee (examples listed in alphabetical sequence). The idea is to get more conservatives elected, not to trash the ones you don't like. If you want to trash someone, make it a Democrat. Thank you.
And QUIT dredging up old communist propaganda to smear our conservatives. Sheesh! Whatever else you may think about our guys, they did not hijack airliners full of people and crash them into buildings. No, my friends, not even the dreaded CIA. Anyone who would believe (or even suspect) that crap is no FReeper. I've been pulling this crap whenever I see it and several people have been banned for continuing to post it. I do not want it on Free Republic. Any current FR poster who believes this leftist propaganda, please logoff immediately, send me your resignation via email, and I will delete your account.
Thanks,
Jim
Tattle-tale!
:)
You have misjudged me. I hope FReepers do read what I spent lots of time composing. Thanks for encouraging them to review my postings.
I am sometimes reluctant to comment in threads that interest me because of the presence of some of these grouches. I choose to avoid defending the validity of my statements based on the date I logged into FR.
I agree. I have also refrained from joining some discussions because of some who are already participating. The name calling, and flames take away from the enjoyment I get from this site, and do little to educate.
Anyway, that is my opinion.
And don't forget Dash-hole, and all the other commies.
Well said Sabertooth. Airing our differences is healthy and let's get real, sometimes debates can turn heated. So What? That is part of the passion of politics. From what I see, there are WAY TOO MANY thin-skinned and overly-sensitive people on this forum that like to hit the "abuse" button WAY TOO MUCH. All this does, more often than not, is involve the moderators in petty arguments leaving them less time to combat the major infractions that happen from time to time on this board.
Yes, I know what you mean, as I have too. It is too bad we don't have some chat rooms, where we can talk together about our pets LOL.
Regards
I believe you mean "Republican elected leaders".
Good point. Don't there exist Liberal Democrats and Conservative Democrats?
FReepers are an intelligent bunch, and quick to help people. Now I feel bad about posting to some threads...Ah can't hep muhsef!
I wonder if this would be true, for either party, going back before Reagan?
Given that the democrats have gone almost 100% liberal I don't know if that distinction can be made today--I guess in a few places. I just believe the word "conservative" is tossed around too carelessly in describing many politicians that are not conservative if one bothers to analyze their position on issues. Much as the "moderate" label has frequently come to describe politicians that are well entrenched in the liberal camp.
Interesting idea.
Does anyone use it? ;)
nod of agreement from this cynic (realist)! :)
Conservative Democrats? There are several hundred Democrats in Congress (House and Senate). Can you name any more conservative than, choosing a RINO at semi-random, oh, I don't know, Arlen "Magic Bullet, Scottish Law" Specter?
If you can, then you probably can count them on one hand.
