Way too many vanity threads lately. And way too much trash being posted. Please try to stay on topic (politics). Also, please do a search on a significant word from the title of your article before posting. This will reduce the number of duplicates. And, along these same lines, please use the original titles on your article posts. Do NOT edit the titles. Do NOT use "My Title" titles. This will also help to reduce the number of duplicates.
And, whatever else you do, please DO NOT post from DEMOCRATS UNDERGROUND (or any other such trashy un-American socialist hangout). Free Republic was intended to be a socialist free zone. We've gone to a heck of a lot of trouble to make it that way. Why in the world would you think we would be interested in having their trash posted here?
And QUIT trashing each other. You know who you are. Knock it off! Way too many flamewars and feuds going on. And, while I'm thinking about it, QUIT trashing our conservative candidates. If you want to criticize someone's position on some policy, have at it. But do not trash or smear the man. That would include Browne, Buchanan, Bush, Keyes, et al, or whomever else may be your favorite trashee (examples listed in alphabetical sequence). The idea is to get more conservatives elected, not to trash the ones you don't like. If you want to trash someone, make it a Democrat. Thank you.
And QUIT dredging up old communist propaganda to smear our conservatives. Sheesh! Whatever else you may think about our guys, they did not hijack airliners full of people and crash them into buildings. No, my friends, not even the dreaded CIA. Anyone who would believe (or even suspect) that crap is no FReeper. I've been pulling this crap whenever I see it and several people have been banned for continuing to post it. I do not want it on Free Republic. Any current FR poster who believes this leftist propaganda, please logoff immediately, send me your resignation via email, and I will delete your account.
Thanks,
Jim
Where did you do that?
There sure has been a ton of "worst of" threads today, like worst meal, worst movie, worst drink.
I haven't been around very long, but in the time I've been here, I've spent quite a bit of online time FReeping. I think most of "us" view FR as a community, rather than a on trick pony. We enjoy the interaction with people who share similar interests and concerns, whether it be politics, religion, or life in general.
It's not my server space, of course, but those threads you speak of are actually quite popular, and perhaps provide a respite from the political threads. I've certainly participated in them, when they were of interest.
I even liked a thread from Don Joe, who asked FReepers to pray for his cat. Not political, but stirring in that he thought highly enough to share with fellow FReepers. By the way, Don Joe, I hope Jessie is still eating well and feeling better.
Focusing on conservatism is essential, and as Martha would say, "A good thing," but a diversion is not always bad.
Thanks.
If this is to be a forum for conservative thinkers, I would think that members could be a lot less critical of those who are trying to participate.
Pardon me, but I don't think you have to be a tinfoil hat conservative to note that even after 9/11 our borders remain a sieve for illegal immigration; that Bush plans to reward such illegal immigration with Amnesty; that Bush is advocating welfare for non-citizens, that our immigration laws continue to go unenforced; that we have the Mexican president injecting himself into OUR policy making decisions; that Bush capitulated to Ted Kennedy on the so-called education bill and got next to nothing out of it. I hardly think bringing out the truth on this and other questionable actions of Bush is "vile" and "disgusting"...among your litany of other terms.
Nope, you sound more like a Canadian. lol ;^)
LOL! I give. Go on about your business. Keep on trashing our conservative elected leaders during a election cycle. Real smart political thinking.
Well said.
Someone explained to me once how the big corporate money mongers grabbed much of the GOP leadership in order to control any opposition to establishing global profit opportunities at any expense including American sovereignty and our Constitution. Since moral/social issues are of no concern to rabid profiteers, their choice for willing dupes to help give them political viability was those who deviated from traditional conservative ideals such as, those who wanted the right to kill their babies or tolerate human deviancy, and all assorted socialist beggars and bandits.
I'm beginning to think that guy was correct.
Quote of the day, Iron Jack! :-)
My thoughts exactly. I second it.
I've just started, would you like me to go on.
Do you feel that Bush's immigration policies and the numerous trial balloons being floated by the White House which seem to indicate an inclination to amnesty and Surrender on illegals is beyond the pale of conversation?
I'm for conservative candidates, and I voted for President Bush and his father.
But I'm also for conservative principles, and have voted for California's Proposition #187. Republicans lke Dubya, Jack Kemp, and Bill Bennett were in opposition. When conservative candidates incline against conservative principles, what should be the response of Freepers?
Bush's first budget was for fiscal year 2002? Your table only goes up to fiscal year 2000. Do you get it?
