Vanity Post on Vanity Posts, Duplicate Posts, Trash Posts, Commie Propaganda, etc., Vol V, No. 1
Free Republic | Jan 25, 2002 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 01/25/2002 9:38:23 PM PST by Jim Robinson

Way too many vanity threads lately. And way too much trash being posted. Please try to stay on topic (politics). Also, please do a search on a significant word from the title of your article before posting. This will reduce the number of duplicates. And, along these same lines, please use the original titles on your article posts. Do NOT edit the titles. Do NOT use "My Title" titles. This will also help to reduce the number of duplicates.

And, whatever else you do, please DO NOT post from DEMOCRATS UNDERGROUND (or any other such trashy un-American socialist hangout). Free Republic was intended to be a socialist free zone. We've gone to a heck of a lot of trouble to make it that way. Why in the world would you think we would be interested in having their trash posted here?

And QUIT trashing each other. You know who you are. Knock it off! Way too many flamewars and feuds going on. And, while I'm thinking about it, QUIT trashing our conservative candidates. If you want to criticize someone's position on some policy, have at it. But do not trash or smear the man. That would include Browne, Buchanan, Bush, Keyes, et al, or whomever else may be your favorite trashee (examples listed in alphabetical sequence). The idea is to get more conservatives elected, not to trash the ones you don't like. If you want to trash someone, make it a Democrat. Thank you.

And QUIT dredging up old communist propaganda to smear our conservatives. Sheesh! Whatever else you may think about our guys, they did not hijack airliners full of people and crash them into buildings. No, my friends, not even the dreaded CIA. Anyone who would believe (or even suspect) that crap is no FReeper. I've been pulling this crap whenever I see it and several people have been banned for continuing to post it. I do not want it on Free Republic. Any current FR poster who believes this leftist propaganda, please logoff immediately, send me your resignation via email, and I will delete your account.

Thanks,

Jim

I am not going to deny that your facts, as you call them, are true. What you are leaving out is the effect the Social security Trust has on the budget. This is how the democraps get their numbers. The so called deficit is largely inter governmental IOUs. This is rarely talked about.

Actually, we are in better financial shape now than we have been in the past. The balanced budget goal will be put on the back burner for a while and that is the reality of it. Your numbers mean nothing at the present time. Even if true. I refuse to even argue the point now as it is a moot issue.

You are miles off target , pal. First, I am referring to the budget Bush submitted one year ago (March app. 2001--months before 911--get it?). That budget grew triple the rate of inflation.

I've asked you to document your statement on the 2002 budget. Yet, you still haven't done it and you continue to refer to the statistic. Why?

Call me a cynic, but I've seen little evidence of the government relinquishing any power once it's gotten hold of it.

Neither have I. But it doesn't make it any the less imperative that the government must at long last be scaled back to its proper coordinates, even if we who truly believe it might be in a minority.

Vouchers were the only thing he did not get. They still hold the voucher issue at the ready if the new policies fail. I am afraid they will. This was a last effort to fix the ed system IMHO. The unions are too strong on the voucher issue and the repubs would have shot themselves in the foot with so little majority power to press it. This is political compromise and not socialist progression.

Finally, I would like to see you publish an essay to explain the table that I posted in this thread. Would you please do that and ping me after you publish it?

Allow me to do it in condensed form please:

*Republican Congress gets elected.
*Republican Congress fights for small government.
*President Clinton and the media demonize Republican Congress in swing areas of the country.
*Sheeple in swing areas of the country believe president Clinton and the media.
*Republican Congress people in swing areas of the country say why should I fight for small government if my constituents are sheeple.
*SentryoverAmerica becomes aware.

I have nothing to publish. I am no steeenking accountant. I follow political issues and not the number dance. The political reality is that at the present time compromises are and must be made. This has nothing to do with the republican party going socialist.(although, we do have some RINOs) This is a separate issue in my opinion.

We must get a solid majority to keep the socialists from writing policy. 2002 is a major election and it's a off year vote. The party in power generally looses members. We cannot let that happen. Nuff said.

Cute image, I suppose it is like hurding cats. Trying to keep free thinkers focused on the real enemy.

Actually, I'm already a grandpa. Oldest, a daughter, is 27. Middle, a son is a freshman in college. Youngest, a son a junior in high school. Put them in a Baptist school and tried to offset some of that propoganda without turning them into heathens. I didn't become a "blue dog" until last year though. Belonged to the "party of the rich" before that. parsy.

...document your statement on the 2002 budget.

DK what you are talking about. The budget to be submitted this year has not been done yet. I predicted Bush will submit a budget to grow faster than inflation--even excluding military expenses. The table of data I posted is from the official budgets of the past years. Remember, this will be Bush's second budget. They are readily available over the Internet. Am I going to do your homework for you? No. I spend enough time doing research for myself for the articles I publish.

So then you make statistical statements on Bush's first budget. Then you refuse to document the statistics on Bush's first budget and instead decide to make a prediction on his second budget. And then you finally tell me -- the person reading your point on Bush's first budget -- to go find myself the statistics on Bush's first budget.

You've made no valid points yet on Bush's first budget.

As long as we agree on about 80% of the issues, we have compatibility and can get things done. This is the nature of politics.
