Baloney, Stalin was in no position to invade Germany or anyone else.  Russia was so weak, tiny Finland kicked their butts.  Besides, there was the August, 1939 non-agression pact -- remember that one?  And it carried a secret addendum that allowed for Stalin and Hitler to divide Poland once Hitler had invaded.  That's what happened according to my HS history books -- and every other historian known to man.

England appears to have a muscular and militant Muslim element. In the U.S., this is not so much the case. What is on the rise is the flood of articles on Islam as a defective religion. In America, Islam bashing as a black religion is a curiosity to me so far, but if we continue with these reckless attacks on the entire faith well, you have to know where this is going to go. It will manifest itself in Ku Klux Klan type mob action on American mosques, and the Americans in them, by our easily motivated slow-witted crowd. - Right out of the OBL playbook. So when innocent Americans begin to die in numbers remember, I for one will not let those off so easily when you (my fellow citizens) try and put some distance between what you foment and the result. The small disclaimers at the end of these diatribes aren't going to work, namely: - of course you aren't aiming your demonizations at law-abiding, freedom-loving Americans who just happen to worship in the church of Islam, just the “ferriners”.

Actually, that is patently not true. Many more people have been killed in the name of Godless, atheistic Communism. Look at what the Soviets and the Chicoms have "accomplished".

Which is not to say that many evils haven't been committed "in the name of God" - they have.

Zawahiri wasn't a threat either. After all, he was a doctor, a pediatrician no less. He SAVED lives, right. Except for the tens of thousands who were non-Muslim. Please give us a break with this. If you want to defend their action or nonaction, go forth and be free. But every day there is ONE more reason we know they are lying and after 50 years of it, I think we have heard them all.

I disagree but let's assume you are right. I'll take a five year sacrifice over trying to micromanage the Middle East on a permanent basis. What do we suggest we do about Saudi Arabia, which is *not* cooperating with providing information? Take it over?

The Muslim religion is about the same age that Christianity was during the Crusades, and the religion seems to be at that same point in it's evolution. Now, Muslim extremists are invading the non-Muslim world and forcibly converting non-Muslims or killing them - and getting lots of booty along the way. These people call their modern Crusades a jihad, but a an apple called by any other name is still an apple.

Both versions of these Crusadors, both Christian and Muslim, have one thing in common: certain extremist elements are interpreting their holy books in a way that they feel justifies mass murder - and getting lots of booty.

Is Islam peaceful? Most Muslims want peace. They interpret the Qu-ran in a way that does not justify mass-murder, just like many Christian sects.

So, Islam in general is peaceful, just like Christianity in general is peaceful. There will always be greedy, very unpeaceful psychopaths who interpret their religious texts in a way that they feel allows them to murder and plunder with impunity.

No, it isn't. It's history. The Crusades lasted from the 11th through 13th centuries AD. The reason was to wrest back Christian territory conquered by the Turks.

In 1095, Pope Urban II called for the first Crusade. The Crusades were successful in that they won back a lot of Christian holy sites as well as land, and in the end, the Crusades were ultimately responsible for supplanting midaevil feudalism with a system based on commerce. Jerusalem was one of the cities freed. So, good things came from the Crusades as well.

However, as with all human endeavors, human greed played a big part in them too. Not everyone was interested in rescuing Christian holy sites. During the second Crusade, in 1144, Conrad III, the Holy Roman Emporer, and King Louis VII of France were so busy quarreling amongst themselves that the Second Crusade was a miserable failure. Even Bernard, Abbot of Clairxaux, said in the army of Crusaders, thieves and murderers outnumbered the men of God.

Islamic extremists are using events of a thousand years ago to conduct their modern Crusades. Hey, they're the ones always bringing up the crusade. The Crusades are one of bin Ladens pet rants. He even referred repeatedly to the people of present day Western civilization as "the Crusaders".

It's these modern, Islamic Crusaders I was referring to as being unpeaceful, as opposed to the plain old, regular old Muslims who live pretty normal lives, like getting to work on time, paying the bills, what do I want for supper, and getting the kids off to school. Those people, the regular Muslim Joes, are generally peaceful.

As for Finland, Check out a pre-1938 and post-1939 maps of Finland.

As for your history books, ask any son of the South about the accuracy of historical accounts by the winners.
