The issue is not Israel. Usama bin Laden blew up a U.S. embassy when the Oslo "peace process" was at the height of its "success." The issue is the inability of Islamic regimes around the globe to come to grips with the modern world.

It certainly does have to do with Israel. The Islamic groups don't want Israel there (in their land, as given to them by the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob) and they know that it's the U.S. who supports Israel and keeps Israel there (i.e., able to defend itself).
During the height of the "Oslo peace process" -- that was the very reason to disrupt it -- in that it "was a success" (for the time being, that is). If it really did turn out to be a success that would have legitimized Israel to be there in the land. That's what the Islamic groups cannot stand. That's what they want to get rid of. That's why all their "maps" (in their countries) don't list "Israel". They can't even put the word "Israel" on paper -- on their maps.
And secondarily, these same groups are against Christians. A lot of Christians support Israel. But, Christians come into their own persecution, in their own right -- because a believer in Christ automatically is a "witness" and a condemnation of the false religion (and "false god" of Allah). Just by being a believe (by the very nature of Christianity) it condemns the validity of Islam (as a false religion).
So, it's very natural that the false religion of Islam persecutes both Israel, Jews, the U.S. and Christians.
This article is totally wrong.
Not a bad question.
My dear brother and sister FReepers,
At this, of all times in my lifetime, I would like nothing more than to be able to read these threads and reply to them. I have much I would like to say.
BUT, I cannot!
Why?
Because I am trying hard to raise the finances needed to keep FreeRepublic up and running so that we can continue to share valuable information and respond to it.
I beg you, if you have not yet donated to FreeRepublic this quarter, do so now!
If you have already donated, THANK YOU VERY MUCH AND GOD BLESS YOU, please ping your friends, and FReep on...!
I realize you are giving to lots of Relief efforts and I encourage you to do so. But we need to help FR too. Where would we be right now without it?
If you have no money, please come and bump the Fundraiser Thread.
I would really like to reach our goal quickly so that I and the rest of the dedicated FReepers who are working the Fundraiser Threads can participate in what is undeniably the most important time in FreeRepublic's history.

Why is it that everywhere in the world where Muslims are in the majority, their minorities are persecuted?
This is the question I've been trying to get answered for some time.
Now is that hit song only popular among the "small number of extremists" in Egypt, or is anyone willing to admit that hatred of Jews is widespread in the Islamic world?
I don't understand why you think that the article is totally wrong- the persecution of catholics in the Philippines and the crucifixions of Christians in the Sudan are not because of the existance of Israel, or that the minority is Christian- the Koran advocates even harsher treatment of people who are not "of the Book".
This is one of the best editorials I have read in a long time. The author has seen the true nature of Islam, I admire his writing it now, as it is sure to create a backlash among the 'tolerance at all costs crowd'.
It would appear that Islam is satanic, and its practitioners are evil.
The article is right, or where do they peacefully co-exist with what other religion? Millions of non-Muslims were killed in Africa in just the past few years and it had nothing to do with their support of Israel. In India and Pakistan, they kill Hindus.
Tolerance is a very nice thing and we are the most tolerant people in the entire world but it hasn't helped us understand such a different way of thinking. Tolerance is good when the other side appreciates tolerance but not all groups have any respect for that word.
Reading this article made me realize what disturbs me when we have these radical Islamic attacks. When they happen, we have the news stories about Bin Laden, Hamas, Iraq and other places where there is strong support for attacking the US and Western Culture and Christianity. If we make noises about feeling anti-Arab or anti-Muslim we are correctly warned about allowing a bias against a group to become a racist blinding that could cause prejudicial behavior against innocents both here and abroad. OK, I can accept this, but I still have a problem.
Where are their co-religious clerics who are willing to criticize these heinous actions? Yes, we sometimes hear from our domestic Islamic community and maybe, depending upon the notoriety of the attack, Islamic Governments. What we don't hear is other foreign Islamic Clerics, Mosques or leaders who are willing to condem what we are so frequently told is Un-Islamic behavior.
Here in the West, if a religious leader or community behaves this way, there is an immediate outcry against the perpetuators from all sides. Look at our local most famous terrorist, Timothy McVeigh. The militia movements that he drew moral support from have been reduced to shamed silence and have, at best, barely 10-20% of the old membership.
Faced with this lack of outside condemnation of Islamic Extremists, what are we to believe? I can think of a series of choices;
1. Our vaunted news media is failing to find these Islamic moderates.
2. These moderate Islamacists are afraid to criticize these attacks.
3. These moderate Islamacist do not exist in the Islamic World.
So what am I missing here? I hope that there is something because I distinctly do NOT like the conclusions that this is leading me to, that there is no truely peaceful Islam!
Islam knows no "diversity."
Islam knows no "multiculturalism."
Islam knows no "tolerance of other's beliefs."
Islam knows only to conquer, subjugate and enslave.
Don't believe me? It is all in the Koran. Read it.
