The issue is not Israel. Usama bin Laden blew up a U.S. embassy when the Oslo "peace process" was at the height of its "success." The issue is the inability of Islamic regimes around the globe to come to grips with the modern world.

It certainly does have to do with Israel. The Islamic groups don't want Israel there (in their land, as given to them by the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob) and they know that it's the U.S. who supports Israel and keeps Israel there (i.e., able to defend itself).

During the height of the "Oslo peace process" -- that was the very reason to disrupt it -- in that it "was a success" (for the time being, that is). If it really did turn out to be a success that would have legitimized Israel to be there in the land. That's what the Islamic groups cannot stand. That's what they want to get rid of. That's why all their "maps" (in their countries) don't list "Israel". They can't even put the word "Israel" on paper -- on their maps.

And secondarily, these same groups are against Christians. A lot of Christians support Israel. But, Christians come into their own persecution, in their own right -- because a believer in Christ automatically is a "witness" and a condemnation of the false religion (and "false god" of Allah). Just by being a believe (by the very nature of Christianity) it condemns the validity of Islam (as a false religion).

So, it's very natural that the false religion of Islam persecutes both Israel, Jews, the U.S. and Christians.

This article is totally wrong.

My dear brother and sister FReepers,

At this, of all times in my lifetime, I would like nothing more than to be able to read these threads and reply to them.  I have much I would like to say.

BUT, I cannot!

Why?

Because I am trying hard to raise the finances needed to keep FreeRepublic up and running so that we can continue to share valuable information and respond to it.

I beg you, if you have not yet donated to FreeRepublic this quarter,  do so now!

If you have already donated, THANK YOU VERY MUCH AND GOD BLESS YOU, please ping your friends, and FReep on...!

I realize you are giving to lots of Relief efforts and I encourage you to do so.  But we need to help FR too.  Where would we be right now without it?

If you have no money, please come and bump the Fundraiser Thread.

I would really like to reach our goal quickly so that I and the rest of the dedicated FReepers who are working the Fundraiser Threads can participate in what is undeniably the most important time in FreeRepublic's history.

WHERE WOULD YOU GET YOUR NEWS FROM IF FREEREPUBLIC WASN'T HERE?<--click here

You are right that hatred of Israel is a big motivator for many of these people. But the author's point is still valid- Islam, true Islam, preaches not only intolerance of other religions, but the absolute subjugation of all other belief systems. Thus, even if Israel did not exist, Islamic atrocities would still occur.

I don't understand why you think that the article is totally wrong- the persecution of catholics in the Philippines and the crucifixions of Christians in the Sudan are not because of the existance of Israel, or that the minority is Christian- the Koran advocates even harsher treatment of people who are not "of the Book".

This is one of the best editorials I have read in a long time. The author has seen the true nature of Islam, I admire his writing it now, as it is sure to create a backlash among the 'tolerance at all costs crowd'.

The article is right, or where do they peacefully co-exist with what other religion? Millions of non-Muslims were killed in Africa in just the past few years and it had nothing to do with their support of Israel. In India and Pakistan, they kill Hindus.

Funny. I could have sworn the U.N. partitioned Palestine and created the secular, political state of Israel.

Christianity preached hate about thousand years ago. Christians finally decided to ignore interpreting certain sections of the bible to mean that they are better than others? or they should die in the deffence of their faith. Unfortunately, Islam is still in the sone-age, and its leaders are unable or affraid of developing a reform that implore its followers to live and let live!

While I agree that Islam is a false religion, and persecutes Jews and Christians, I believe they would attack us even if Israel was not a nation yet.

Radical Islam is most prominent in impoverished Islam, and impoverished Islam is bothered by a place like Israel where people with a different world-view can create a rather adequate economy in a region where Islamic culture did not do well, and in the heart of an Islamic region where the surrounding countries are certainly not such as to attract many immigrants, from which the more able tend to emigrate, and which, without oil revenue, would probably be cooking over dried camel dung. It is hard for people to admit that their culture is utterly deficient, for that makes them and their ancestors look like fools. It is easier to blame it all on the United States or colonialism or the devil. The unfortunate fact, nevertheless, is that Islamic culture has failed its people massively, but it isn't going to make things better by lashing out against the rest of the world, and particularly against the United States. This is a pretty tolerant and fair-minded country, but we will grease people who truly threaten civilization or threaten us. Get used to it. Get over it. Or get ready to die, Oh ye of peculiar faith.
