You are right that hatred of Israel is a big motivator for many of these people. But the author's point is still valid- Islam, true Islam, preaches not only intolerance of other religions, but the absolute subjugation of all other belief systems. Thus, even if Israel did not exist, Islamic atrocities would still occur.

I don't understand why you think that the article is totally wrong- the persecution of catholics in the Philippines and the crucifixions of Christians in the Sudan are not because of the existance of Israel, or that the minority is Christian- the Koran advocates even harsher treatment of people who are not "of the Book".

This is one of the best editorials I have read in a long time. The author has seen the true nature of Islam, I admire his writing it now, as it is sure to create a backlash among the 'tolerance at all costs crowd'.

'tolerance at all costs crowd'.

Tolerance is a very nice thing and we are the most tolerant people in the entire world but it hasn't helped us understand such a different way of thinking. Tolerance is good when the other side appreciates tolerance but not all groups have any respect for that word.

Well, it's the "focal point" that is totally wrong. It may be true that this is *also* true (the other things that are said), but it shifts the true focus. Islam is *totally against* Christians and Jews (the people of the book) -- as they are mentioned *very specifically*.

Where are the other religions mentioned specifically by them -- in their writings? I see it repeatedly mentioned about the "people of the book" and the "Jews" and the "Christians".

So, while they are against all others -- they are also against these two groups specifically -- who are "primarily joined" in one aspect -- in that they both have the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob as their one true God (while Islam has the "god of this world" [as mentioned in the Bible] as their "god").

It's totally wrong in its "focus".
