There’s a pretty significant difference between winning a presidential election and deciding that the rules for winning presidential elections should be changed.

That distinction is worth considering after Democrats’ sweeping victories in several key state elections during a bloodbath of a midterm.

Axios reported Wednesday that Democrats have gained control of the governorship and both legislative chambers in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Arizona, Wisconsin and Nevada. Those victories could give Democrats enough political power to push the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact past the threshold needed to take effect.

And that could fundamentally change how America elects its president by 2028.

They really pushed the fraud in the last two border states standing - Arizona and Texas. Someone desperately wants the southern border re-opened.

The result of this week’s election may have been predetermined when the CIA let Trump have his job back in 2024 to turn the heat down - but the margin was not. My suggestion:

The Income & Property Tax Free Country Act of 2026

Each state government shall be entitled to create new countries. The territory of each country shall be such that navigation to an ocean or the Gulf of Mexico is possible.

Each such country upon its creation shall be issued a treaty with the United States, which shall, in perpetuity:
1. ensure each American citizen who becomes a citizen and permanent resident of such a country shall not suffer a revenue imposition from any government of the United States,
2. ensure each American citizen who becomes a citizen and permanent resident of such a country shall not be subject to any extraterritorial power of any government of the United States,
3. ensure that country shall have free civilian navigation to and from international waters,
4. ensure that country shall have a constitution, which shall provide, in perpetuity, that it shall be forever revenue limited to:
a. liquid motor fuel sales taxation not exceeding 50% by value nor the value of two ounces of copper per gallon, and
b. personal property sales taxation not exceeding 20% nor the value of 10 grams of gold per capita per annum, and
5. bar the placement of foreign military means within the physical bounds of the country.

That can be done by majority vote:

The US Constitution clearly states “Each elector.. shall make a List of all the Persons voted for, and of the Number of Votes for each; which List they shall sign and certify, and transmit sealed to the Seat of Government of the United States, directed to the President of the Senate”.

The electors don’t have an option to change that number in order to reflect the popular vote nationwide. If they try to do this, the looser can sue to correct the number, or simply throw it out.

Our only hope would be if another Ronald Reagan appears on the scene. Who that would be, I don’t know.

As a side note, the Vietnam War fundamentally changed this country. The fallout swept away Eisenhower’s America. It looks like the current Iran War is having a similar effect.

And yes, I know Iran is far from being the only reason for the election disaster. But I believe it played a big part. The war became an easy excuse for inflation, etc. Others might differ, and I respect that.

People need to accept something.

We no longer live in the America that many of you were educated in, fought for, supported, or tried to build. The problems the nation faced, like the deficit and affordability, as well as an opportunity for solid production and livable jobs, just evaporated.
