Graphs are nice but real numbers are more meaningful sometimes...and the Sea Ice surface is not flat...so it means playing with numbers.
It would be nice if you’d show a little more of the graph - like back just a few months when it was below the record minimum and even further below the 1981-2010 median...

The headline - “Arctic Sea Ice Highest Since 2014” - is misleading.
The graph in the link shows the area of ocean with at least 15% Arctic sea ice in units of area (millions of square kilometers). However, the Arctic sea ice extent is still less than the median value for 1981-2010.
A better headline would have been “Arctic Sea Ice Covers More Ocean Since 2014, but Still Less than the 1981-2010 Median”.
