Kimya Holmeso, a Democrat Judge, is running for re-election in Louisiana.
Her former fiancé, Arthur Allen, was charged with stealing over $712,000 in COVID relief funds.
During their time together, Allen reportedly gifted Holmes a $765,000 house, a diamond ring, and a Corvette.
Holmes is now claiming that she "didn't know" he was charged with a felony until he pleaded guilty. She has since broken off the engagement.
She continues to live in the same house he gifted to her.

I was wondering, If he gifts something as dear as a home, and is found to owe restitution, wouldn’t the government try to claw that back?
Why hasn’t disgorgement from ill-gotten gains taken place already. This isn’t novel interpretation of the law.
Pure speculation, since there is little on the judge.
But there is a very high probability that it you look at this judges bio, you’d see it’s weak.
In this country of “institutional discrimination and privilege,” if you’re a black female with a pulse that can write a sentence without to many grammatical errors, preferably don’t have a felony record, they will practically throw these jobs at you in government and academia.
I would not be surprised if a review of her work shows her performance as a judge is highly questionable, in regards to following precedent and staying within the guidelines.
Anyone else not shocked?
