Air strikes continue across the region on Tuesday as Iran shows no signs of backing down after the US and Israel launched an attack at the weekend that killed Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Follow our live blog.
The Iran war has entered its fourth day, a campaign that US President Donald Trump said Monday would take several weeks.
Trump said operations are likely to last four to five weeks but that he was prepared “to go far longer than that.”
Meanwhile, Tehran has continued its attacks across the region, striking Israel and a variety of targets inside Gulf states, including the US Embassy in Saudi Arabia and energy facilities in Qatar.
Iran also claimed the Strait of Hormuz is closed, and threatened to attack any ship trying to pass through the key shipping lane linking the Gulf to global markets.

Trump “walked back Rubio’s statement” because
he knew that’s what the public wanted to hear .......
AND........ so he could refute it.
No Secy in any admin can make a definitive statement
as Rubio did without presidential approval.
Trump says what? There are no quotes from a Trump in the Euroweenie trash pice someone searched high and low for.
Han shot first.

How do you say Lebensraum in Yiddish?
What a BS headline. I’m surprised this thread hasn’t been pulled.
Most people in Iran (over 90 million) live in the northern and western regions, particularly along the edges of the central plateau and near the Alborz and Zagros mountains, due to better water supply and favorable climate. The population is highly urbanized, with major centers in Tehran (the capital), Mashhad, Isfahan, Karaj, and Shiraz.
LOL. I heard that StarWars is being re-released supposedly in its original form for its 50th anniversary. The big question everyone wants to know will be “did Han shoot first!”
Nice try, Mr. President. All you have is classified intelligence and top secret information at your disposal. Kelly and Qatarlson have podcasts.
I will admit my naïveté. I can hardly believe how armed Iran still is.
It has to be a hold-over from the Shah.
WIKI——The United States intelligence budget, subsidized by taxpayers, comprises all the funding for the 18 agencies of the United States Intelligence Community.
These agencies and other programs fit into one of the intelligence budget’s two components, the National Intelligence Program (NIP) and the Military Intelligence Program (MIP). As with other parts of the federal budget, the US intelligence budget runs according to the Fiscal year (FY), not the calendar year.
Before government finances are spent on intelligence, the funds must first be authorized and appropriated by committees in both the United States House of Representatives and the United States Senate.
Pursuant to a suggestion by 9/11 Commission, the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) released the top line amount given to the NIP for fiscal year 2009 as US$49.8 billion.[1] This amount has been on a gradually rising trend with record budget requests in 2020 and 2022 of US$62.7 billion and US$65.7 billion respectively. This amount excludes the US$20.7 billion requested for the Military Intelligence Program, which has been recovering from a post-Iraq war 2015 low of US$16.5 billion.
In 2007, it was revealed that 70% of the intelligence budget went to defense contracting companies.
I didn’t hear that Megyn Kelly said that.
Trump is purposely ambiguous about things like this. He clearly had made up his mind that the mullahs had to go. All the time he was “negotiating” he was moving his chess pieces into position. After that it was a matter of waiting for the right moment. For apparent legal reasons he’s letting the Israelis handle the targeted assassinations, so once he was ready he gave them the trigger.
Once Trump made up his mind, the mullahs never had any cards to play, as Trump likes to say.
Euronews(lol) doesn't mention that CENTCOM says that the strait of Hormuz is open.
