Trump's rookie prosecutor forced to take on Comey case alone after Pam Bondi 'left her out to dry'

Tensions are boiling inside the Department of Justice regarding President Donald Trump's appointment of an inexperienced prosecutor to handle explosive cases against his political enemies – including James Comey and Letitia James.

Interim U.S. Attorney Lindsey Halligan for the Eastern District of Virginia forged ahead with convening a grand jury against former FBI Director James Comey, despite having little to no support from Attorney General Pam Bondi's team.

Other reports suggest that the DOJ didn't want to go after Comey yet because they were more focused on landing charges for disgraced former Trump National Security Advisor John Bolton, whose home was raided by the FBI last month.

The Daily Mail's source says they haven't heard anything about that, and instead claimed it was more about not having faith that Halligan could land a grand jury indictment for Comey.

Comey was indicted Thursday on two felony charges connected to comments he made to Congress in 2020 claiming he did not authorize a leak to the media of sensitive information the FBI had in its possession.

That leak led to the special counsel investigation into whether Trump colluded with Russia to influence the 2016 presidential election.

She was forced to argue the case alone to the grand jury, a person familiar with the matter confirmed.

The isolation was deliberate. An administration insider told the Daily Mail that Bondi wanted nothing to do with the Comey case – the DOJ didn't believe Halligan could secure an indictment.

When proven wrong on Thursday, the source claimed the DOJ wanted to 'come in as the hero.'

Halligan told the White House that the FBI had to help bring her up to speed on the Comey case because Bondi's DOJ 'left her out to dry,' the source detailed.

...having little to no support from Attorney General Pam Bondi's team.

There's only ONE reason Blondi would not provide support to prosecute Comey...

As far as I know Comey was going to skate on this due to 5 year statute of limitations kicking in. Bondi was dragging her feet. Lindsey Halligan came just in time and got this rat indicted.

“Other reports suggest that the DOJ didn’t want to go after Comey yet because they were more focused on landing charges for disgraced former Trump National Security Advisor John Bolton, whose home was raided by the FBI last month.”

Blondi can’t walk and chew gum at the same time. She’s less than worthless.

The WH didn’t, Bondi did. But that said, Bondi works for Trump. If this is true, apparently Trump’s public admonishment of Bond didn’t sink in.

Interim U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia Lindsey Halligan (pictured) was 'left out to dry' by the Justice Department as she pursued a grand jury indictment against James Comey, a source detailed to the Daily Mail

Lindsey Halligan  got the job done. And Donald Trump wanted this, while Pam Bondi was doing some kind of slow shoe shuffle.

Its pretty sad if Pam Bondi can’t work more than one case at a time with 135 DOJ attorneys on the payroll and thousands of FBLie agents.

Who does Bondi report to? Buck stops with Trump, if she is not following his lead then he needs to step up and fix it...

Here is the problem that Bondi faces- she can choose from a old line, experienced prosecurotr. Pretty much every one of those was hired by the Obama or Biden administrations and many are hard left deep state operatives.

This is a problem that is much deeper than just the Comey case. The DOJ has become institutionalized by Leftist Democrat operatives.

These people are not just partisans who are opposed to Trump and his agenda, many actually engineered the lawfare against Trump, MAGA supporters and Republicans or Conservatives in general

The best Bondi can hope for from these Democrat partisans is hostile compliance and many are actively conspiring to sabotage everything Bondi tries to accomplish.

These partisan prosecutors may or may not be motivated to prosecute Comey to win and who may actually sand bag the case to let Comey off.

Or she can hire a very good up and coming prosecutor who wants so make his or her reputation by putting Comey in jail. Talent is what wins cases, not necessarily age and experience.

What the Trump Administration needs to do is bring in very capable loyalists to keep a close watch on the shop to make sure Bondi's orders are being carried out effectively and not being sabotaged or subject to hostile compliance .

Just replacing Bondi will do nothing to solve the problem - the problem is that a large plurality of the DOJ staff is at war with the Trump Administration and is doing. everything possible to undermine it.

This is a lack of leadership from the top. If Bondi is overloaded then she needs to tell Trump so he can get her the help she needs.. Trump needs to verify the DOj is getting the assigned work done if not then he needs to step in.
