Authorities say they have tracked the suspected gunman's movements before, during, and after the campus shooting that killed conservative activist Charlie Kirk and have recovered what they believe to be the weapon used.
Officials said the suspect arrived near the Utah Valley University campus at 11:52 a.m., moved through stairwells to a rooftop, fired from a shooting position, then fled across the roof, jumped from the building, and escaped into a nearby neighborhood. Investigators canvassed the area, speaking to witnesses and viewing doorbell cameras.
"We do have good video footage of this individual. We are not going to release that at this time," an official said, noting forensic technologies are being used to identify the suspect.
Investigators confirmed they recovered a high-powered bolt-action rifle in a wooded area where the shooter fled. The FBI stated that its lab would analyze the weapon, along with collected footwear impressions, a palm print, and forearm imprints.
"The FBI laboratory will be analyzing this weapon," FBI Special Agent in Charge Robert Bowles said, adding that more than 130 tips have already come in.
Authorities confirmed they have clear video of the suspect, described as appearing "college-age," but are not yet releasing images publicly.
"If we are unsuccessful in identifying them immediately, we will reach out for the public's help," Bowles said.

I'll wager that the suspect is IDd and subsequently caught quite soon.
Another issue is that of confederates who may have aided and abetted the crimes. I would not be surprised if one or more come forward, perhaps hoping to trade info for a deal.

It wasnt a disabled vet shirt. Its been reported as a shirt sold by a disabled vets group on Ebay. Its possible the shooter picked it up at a GoodWill store. It I wanted clothes for such a dastardly task, thats probably what I would do. Harder to trace purchases. But wearing something patriot looking would be part of the ‘blend in afterwards’ strategy.

Mr Kirk appeared to have his tent set up on the east side of a walking overpass. In some of the videos you can see there is not a hard wall behind him. Likely the bullet passed trough him, and continued past, into maybe a vehicle on the other other side of the walkway, or into the sidewalk behind him where it might have buried or ricocheted farther west.
Good chance all they find is fragments. Fingers crossed they find more, if only to put an end to the conspiracies that it wasnt the 30.06 that killed him.

They identified the rifle as 30.06. Which is one of many 30 caliber options. They havent said anything about the bullet, and they may or may not get lucky and recover it.
