No connection to protest Police say about 30 suspects entered the Shiekh Shoes store near 34th and International Boulevard around 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, just blocks from the Fruitvale Village where a peaceful protest against U.S. immigration raids had taken place earlier in the evening.
Also nearby, one vehicle was set on fire and police say some people threw objects at police officers and damaged a police vehicle.

Thank you very much and God bless you.
Like the guy on Jan 6th breaking windows WITH A SKATEBOARD, while the crowd pulled him down.
The skateboard is not the weapon of choice for the MAGA crowd.
Amish looters. Very common source of felonies
The rats in Oakland (and Los Angeles) need little provocation to loot, the slightest thing will set them off.
Happened in LA during the Rodney King riot - looters had no idea what all the rioting was about, they merely saw an opportunity to get their fair share of free stuff.
I guess if they define the protests as only people doing peaceful things, then by definition anyone engaging in violence, property destruction and vandalism aren’t part of the protests.
So they had an approved marching permit? They paid for security for their event? Or was it a “spontaneous event” with posters and times and invites on social media that tied up public resources that lead to a security situation where police resources were occupied with a vigil and car fires and looting occurred because of those actions?
Exactly! Never bring a skateboard to a gun fight.
“””Also nearby, one vehicle was set on fire “””
It’s ok. The fire was PEACEFUL.
Not connected?
Is that what the people who set the car on fire told the police?
Or is this just something the mayor made up and told the police to say for political reasons?
“Oakland police say looting and car fire were not connected to anti-ICE vigil because looting and car fires are normal everyday occurrences in Oakland.”
Just Oakland being Oakland?
