Death threats, vandalism, investigations: L.A. immigrant rights groups in the fight of their lives
Los Angeles Times ^ | June 12, 2025 3 AM PT | Rachel Uranga

“No firmes nada,” a union organizer shouted into a bullhorn as he stood atop the flatbed of a truck outside Ambience Apparel, doling out battlefield legal advice not to sign anything. “You have a right to a lawyer. You are not alone.”

Advocates and lawyers had arrived at the downtown store minutes after tips began to pop off at the hotline set up by the Los Angeles Rapid Response Network, a coalition of 300 volunteers and 23 labor unions and immigrant rights and social justice groups that was organized last year to respond to enforcement.

They joined protesters and tearful family members jostling around a plate glass window to catch glimpses of federal officials arresting immigrants inside the clothing retailer on Friday, in what would become a flashpoint that would put Los Angeles at the center of President Trump’s aggressive immigration policy.

“They were really coming in with a military style mindset,” said Angelica Salas, a veteran advocate and director of the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles. That morning she went to another location where union leader David Huerta had been arrested.

Although she had never seen any sweeps like it in scale and aggression, she said advocates were prepared. “It’s a very well-organized community. That’s why coming into L.A. is so important for this Trump administration, because what they want to do is they want to break us.”

The coalition of advocates is in a fight for their lives, as the administration undermines its funding while escalating detention and deportation of the people they are meant to help. Many have been doing the work for decades, but the anti-immigrant vitriol has reached a pitch that has them unnerved like never before.

Salas said her office has received death threats. Two weeks ago, vandals threw...

Illegal aliens must be arrested and deported. Singularly or in masse.

These groups need to be investigated as being connected to the riot funders. Prosecute all of them.

“Salas said her office has received death threats.”

Funny how they’re never challenged to prove that.

Who tipped them off? And as it turns out, the operation was to raid a Cartel money laundering facility, which moved hundreds of millions of dollars for them.

Jocelyn Nungarey was in the fight for her life when two illegal alien scumbags were raping her under a bridge, Rachel Morin was in the fight for her life when an illegal alien scumbag pushed her against the wall, hit her repeatedly with a rock and raped her before strangling her, I can go on and on and on

NOW - LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell just shattered the “peaceful protester” narrative.

What’s happening in Los Angeles isn’t civil unrest—it’s urban warfare.

“They have weapons of all kinds.”

McDonnell said officers made several arrests during the citywide curfew—and what they discovered was alarming.

“We arrested a number of people last night for curfew violations, that I think 14 and 3 out of the 14 were armed with weapons, handguns.”

“And so when you look at that, what appears to be one thing is something very different.”

Backpacks weren’t just backpacks—they were mobile arsenals.

“We’ve seen in those backpacks that they’ll have hammers, they’ll break up curb stones and concrete bollards, break up into smaller pieces, which they’ll then throw at police.”

“They put them in backpacks and walk around like that.”

“I’ve seen somebody today walking around with golf balls in a backpack, so all sorts of weapons, all very potentially dangerous.”

Even the fireworks were modified to be more deadly.

“We’ve seen commercial grade fireworks being fired at our people, with shrapnel being put in, from what I’m told, into some of these packages.”

“Again, that is that is pretty scary stuff when you look at it.”

“Liquid being thrown on our officers.”

Despite the violence, McDonnell says his officers held the line with discipline.

“The attitude of our officers and the professionalism and restraint that they’ve shown is remarkable.”

“They’ve done a tremendous job out there and I’m very proud of them.”

The Los Angeles Times sure knows who to laud and coddle, their sympathetic opening line is:

“No firmes nada,” a union organizer shouted into a bullhorn as he stood atop the flatbed of a truck outside Ambience Apparel, doling out battlefield legal advice not to sign anything. “You have a right to a lawyer. You are not alone.”

Advocates and lawyers had arrived at the downtown store minutes after tips began to pop off at the hotline set up by the Los Angeles Rapid Response Network, a coalition of 300 volunteers and 23 labor unions and immigrant rights and social justice groups that was organized last year to respond to enforcement.

The LA Times management and personnel learned from the Union in 1910 what to print, and has been printing it ever since:

The Los Angeles Times bombing was the purposeful dynamiting of the Los Angeles Times Building in Los Angeles, California, United States, on October 1, 1910, by a union member belonging to the International Association of Bridge and Structural Iron Workers. The explosion started a fire which killed 21 occupants and injured 100 more. It was termed the "crime of the century" by the Los Angeles Times newspaper, before they capitulated to the Communist Unions.

At least the article is balanced with the interviews of legal migrants who support the Administration aggressive enforcement of immigration laws. And victims of illegal alien crimes. And American citizens who have waited for decades to see this type of enforcement. 😉

The article should contain only the balance, the promotion of lawful activities and speech by citizens and public lawfully in the US.

I don’t think they realize how out of touch they are with the majority of Americans.

To borrow a line: “Someone needs to let them know the voices in their heads aren’t real.”

Arrest every one. Charge them with insurrection and hope that corrupt California judges will give them the 5 year sentence they deserve.
