Romania’s electoral body has disqualified another politician, Diana Șoșoacă, from the presidential election re-run.

In doing so on March 15, the Central Electoral Bureau (BEC) cited her public rhetoric — including opposition to Romania’s European Union and NATO membership — as incompatible with the constitutional duties of the presidency.

Șoșoacă is an MEP for the right-wing Eurosceptic SOS Romania Party — and unaligned in the European Parliament.

Being somewhat familiar with Romania and quite familiar with the EU I'd say that it's to Romania's overall benefit to be in the EU. It's one of the only EU member states that I think is better off in the Union than outside of it.

Nice try, Romania!!! But Babylon Bee only accepts sarcasm that has some element of truth in it. They simply WILL NOT ALLOW an article of that nature to get published which comes from a country which claims to be a DEMOCRACY, particularly one in EUROPE.
