President Trump had enthusiastically endorsed the plan, posting on X over the weekend:

The House and Senate are doing a SPECTACULAR job of working together as one unified, and unbeatable, TEAM, however, unlike the Lindsey Graham version of the very important Legislation currently being discussed, the House Resolution implements my FULL America First Agenda, EVERYTHING, not just parts of it! We need both Chambers to pass the House Budget to “kickstart” the Reconciliation process, and move all of our priorities to the concept of, “ONE BIG BEAUTIFUL BILL.” It will, without question, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!

He was reportedly making last-minute calls to round up the stragglers.

Not a popular position here but kudos to the Speaker of the house Johnson for getting the members in line.

>> Massie: “going to add $328 billion to the deficit this year, we’re going to add $295 billion to the deficit the year after that, $242 billion to the deficit after that”

unfortunate the bill couldn’t have avoided the increased deficit spending — tariffs & DOGE voodoo aside

If you want to fix the blame, blame the voters.

Sure, they say they want to cut spending, but not when it comes to their pet programs.

One Dem woman brought her newborn in order to vote against the resolution, then gave a one minute speech to self applaud the fact. Unfortunately for her, no one watches one minutes except FReepers in the hospital 😉

Props to Speaker Johnson for getting this done. I had doubts - he delivered.

Now please get back to Regular Order.

Tax cuts need to remain, no taxes on tips and overtime. Also take a look at taxes outside of Social Security that cause a reduction in payments.

There should be zero based budgeting. Everything starts with nothing. Tell us what you want to spend money on.

...Massie said. “Why would I vote for that?”...

Only once in American history has the Federal debt been zero. That was under Andrew Jackson. It should be obvious by now our National Debt is a systemic problem.  Milton Friedman showed that the cure is a Balanced Budget Amendment. Only using Article V is going to make that happen. There is no way Congress will limit its ability to spend money.

You know, and Trump does too, that they don’t have to spend it.

Balancing the federal budget is going to take more than Congress. It’s going to take an executive that spends under the budgeted amount.

Well now, isn't it nice passing things and not having to rely on Democrats. Congratulations to the men and women of the GOP. I am proud of the effort. Now it is possible to serve the left some more of it's own medicine. Use our media to paint them as total obstructionists.

Massie gets his name and message mentioned near the top of the article. Attention hog.

He's nothing but a self-proclaimed "principled conservative" who is doing nothing to help America get back on the road to recovery. I hope like hell he is primaried out next year.

Is this actually a budget?

Or is it just yet another continuing resolution?

So every Democrat voted against cutting taxes on Social Security, tips and overtime. So much for being for the poor and middle class. They are strictly for government and power.
