The Department of Justice's top career official for public corruption resigned Monday after the Trump administration reassigned him to handle immigration matters, the New York Times reported on Monday, citing the resignation letter.

Corey Amundson had served in the DOJ for more than two decades.

“I spent my entire professional life committed to the apolitical enforcement of federal criminal law and to ensuring that those around me understood and embraced that central tenet of our work,” he wrote to acting Attorney General James McHenry.

Was Amundson in charge of uncovering and prosecuting corruption or was he in charge of covering up the corruption of the politically connected?

The corrupt DOJ attorneys aren't pleased with being moved around.

Remember when in high school, the teacher would split up the trouble-makers and put them on the opposite sides of the room so they couldn't coordinate their plots to disrupt the class? I believe that is what is happening in the DOJ.

Dealing with illegals, drugs, trafficking and sex rings is not what, illegal or apolitical, which is it?

As a jr high teacher I’d do that. Didn’t work when I had more trouble-makers than the room had corners. DOJ may have the same problem.

From the article: Corey Amundson had served in the DOJ for more than two decades.

He may have occupied space but apparently didn't "serve".

Amundson is one of an estimated 20 career officials inside the Justice Department who was re-assigned last week to a new Sanctuary City Working Group inside the Associate Attorney General’s office.

inside the associated attorney generals office.

I suspect the supervision was the problem. maybe the sanctuary city working group.

How many whistle blowers have come out of the DOJ in the last several administrations?

Clinton ?
Bush ?
Obama ?
Trump ?
Biden ?

Has there been nothing untoward to report? Hmmm?

He is lying his butt off. He got reassigned because he was a political hack who made a career out of covering for the democrats and their agenda.

Nothing more than a stuck pig squealing because he got caught.

WHAT? That isn't a boast, it's an admission of failure.

When you have to put the word apolitical in, it means you were being political.

And what? Too good to be assigned to new opportunities to serve the American public?

The DOJ is America’s KGB

I don’t mean that necessarily as a slur. Every government must have a top law enforcement agency to ensure stability, promote some sense of justice, and “protect the realm.”

They will, by default, be “political.” they must always follow the directions of the human leaders of the country.

Its when you get a huge bloated centralized government, overseeing a vast, diverse empire, through which all money and power flow, a uniparty of apparatchiks in the capital, and extreme ideological rule - this top central law enforcement agency will become the master of government, and strict enforcer of political uniformity among the elites.

That’s what the KGB was, and it went off the rails, badly.

And that’s what the US DOJ is turning into.

Basic research is a gift.

https://www.politico.com/news/2021/08/12/doj-officials-trump-voter-fraud-504031

….on Dec. 5, Trump alluded to the video at a rally in Georgia, suggesting it proved poll workers were stuffing ballot boxes to help the Democrats.

Two days later, at 12:34 a.m. on Dec. 7, the head of DOJ’s Public Integrity Section (PIN) — which oversees investigations of voter fraud, along with a host of other issues — sent a four-paragraph email to an FBI official. Lawyers in the section had learned that FBI agents planned to interview people who appeared in a video showing votes being counted at State Farm Arena in Georgia –– a video Georgia’s secretary of state had already investigated. The email doesn’t give much detail about the video, but it appears to be discussing the same one that Trump referenced at his rally on Dec. 5.

The head of PIN — Corey Amundson, a career official with two decades of law enforcement experience — wrote that his team did not want the FBI to investigate the video.

“[Secretary of State] investigators have already conducted recorded interviews of the individuals at issue and such interviews reportedly revealed nothing to suggest nefarious activity with regard to the integrity of the election,” Amundson wrote. “The FBI ‘re-interviewing’ those individuals at this point and under the current circumstances risks great damage to the Department’s reputation, including the possible appearance of being motivated by partisan concerns.”
