Trump will be sworn in as the 47th president of the United States on January 20. His inauguration is expected to be attended by over 200,000 people, The Washington Post reported, citing local and federal officials—and it looks like they need to bundle up for the ceremony held outside the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C.
On January 20, the temperature in Washington, D.C., will be roughly 21 degrees Fahrenheit but feel like 11 degrees around noon, when the inauguration proceedings begin, according to WJLA. Temperatures will increase later in the afternoon to 25 degrees, but it will feel like 14 degrees.
Trump's first inauguration in 2017 saw temperatures of 48 degrees, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). It rained during Trump's first swearing-in, although he falsely claimed to have missed the showers.
"I looked at the rain which just never came. You know, we finished the speech, went inside for lunch, it poured, then we came outside. Amazingly, it was like God was looking down on us. I will tell you," he said at an inauguration ball in 2017.
It will be mostly sunny today in Washington, D.C., with a high of about 32 degrees and a low of about 15. There is a chance of snow tomorrow afternoon in the D.C. area, with a high of about 35 degrees and a low of about 24 degrees.
Thursday will be sunny. The people of D.C. should expect a high of about 41 degrees and a low of around 29 that day.
