On Dec. 12th, 2024—the D.O.J Office of Inspector General (OIG) released a report evaluating the FBI’s role in intelligence gathering and handling of Confidential Human Sources (CHS) leading up to certification day for the 2020 presidential election.
The report touched on several aspects in which the FBI was both functionally successful and in which it failed to adequately meet its own standards of due diligence. It also made clear that there was no evidence of undercover FBI agents being present within the Capitol crowd, and that none of the CHSs who were at the riot were authorized by the FBI to (or encourage others to) break any laws.
In a saner information environment, this disclosure might have been seen as a decisive counter to the "fedsurrection" narrative—a conspiracy theory claiming that federal operatives orchestrated or incited the events of Jan. 6th. Then redirecting attention toward the report's legitimate critiques of the FBI’s intelligence practices.
Unfortunately, we don’t exist in that saner space, but there are still things to be learned in analyzing how this conversation became hijacked by MAGA affiliate attempts to rewrite the story on their own conspiracy.

Now Jan. 6 is being referred to as a riot. I don't recall it being called a riot; I thought it was an insurrection.
And since that report we learned there were over 26 from the FBI alone who were at the Fedsurrection. We still haven’t learned how many there were from various other federal agencies.
Riiight.
Meantime, the Democrats are tearing down statues of their slave-owning forebears.
The truth is always a dangerous trend for the left.
Until someone reminded them that earlier that year they had declared that calling something a riot was racist.
It was only six months ago, a year was enough time for people to forget but not six months.
So they switched to insurrection.
We are not rewriting anything HoSang. We are exposing what really happened. Take your lies back to whence they came from, that spot where the sun never shines.
Antifa like groups train to incite riots. 2020 was full of such moments. Anyone paying attention during the “Summer of Love” knew. I refer you to the good people of Englewood Il who ran off outside agitators before their 2020!protest march. Even they knew

The ‘author’ of the atricle is likely an AI bot. You can tell by what was left out. Like the removal of the temp plastic fencing indicating a ‘No Trespassing’ zone by the actual insurrection instigators while the crowd attending Trump’s rally had just started moving up the hill to the Capitol 1/4 mile away. Notice the bot author doesn’t address this anomaly that literally ‘set the stage’.

The challenge before us is to resist the gravitational pull of these narratives, to focus on the facts and insist on the value of constructive discourse. Because in the end, the strength of our society depends on our ability to discern truth from fiction—and to ensure that truth has the last word.Whose 'truth'???

It’s always been called a riot. That’s actually the common reference. Insurrection takes too long to write and say, so it’s mostly been referred to as a riot. Both in official public reports, and fools on the social media.
Anything to make it seems as bad as all the rioting the leftists do all the time.
