Bill O’Reilly predicts ‘free-fire zone’ for Trump agenda

Former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly predicted President-elect Trump will face no Republican opposition in Congress now that he has GOP control of the House and Senate.

O’Reilly called it a “unique time in history” that would give the former president a “free-fire zone” to implement his agenda.

He told NewsNation’s “On Balance” that there won’t be “one Congressperson now that will be in dissent on the Republican side,” though he noted Democratic lawmakers likely wouldn’t support any Trump initiatives.

O’Reilly compared Trump’s potential second term to former President Grover Cleveland, the only other nonconsecutive president, but noted Cleveland faced strong congressional opposition while Trump would likely have a cooperative Republican majority.

He advised the president-elect to focus on five or six “really solid bills that are almost unopposable,” including border security, immigration reform, tax cut extensions and legislation targeting sanctuary cities.

I believe the next two years could produce historical positive change for decades or more. It will be a significant historical period for America, and I’d venture to say overwhelmingly positive for America.

Go hard and fast.

Assume only 2 years of a semi-friendly Congress.

Slash and burn.

Hey O’Reilly, Dan Bongino wants to meet you in the parking lot.....any parking lot.

He says it’ll only take a minute......if that even.

Thune or Cornyn as Senate majority leader means there will be opposition as the McConnelite wing of the Senate stalls and stops legislation. Pray for Scott but I think the cake is already baked.

Exactly, not sure Bill understands the phrase free fire zone.

El Rushbo famously referred to the clueless O’Reilly as Ted O’Baxter.

The reference wasn’t delivered with any affection.

In reality he did not have the Senate and House as McConnell and Ryan blocked him every step of the way - huge difference this time around.

“Assume only 2 years of a semi-friendly Congress.”

Very good point. There’s every chance in the world that the 2016 midterms will look a lot like the 2018 midterms, perhaps not quite as bad since there won’t (hopefully) be as many quisling Republicans in marginal vacating the House as there were in 2018.

And the Senate map for 2026 isn’t all that terrible. We’ll lose Maine and maybe North Carolina but absent a “blue” wave the Republicans should still have control.

A free fire zone is the opposite of what he thinks it is.

He doesn’t even know the difference between a “loofah” and a “falafel”.
