Kamala Harris Is Weaponizing Banks Against American Gun Owners. We Won't Stand for It | Opinion
Newsweek ^ | 04 Nov 2024 | By Congresswoman Elise Stefanik (R-NY) & Congressman Andy Barr

Under the Biden-Harris Administration, there has been an unconstitutional and relentless attack on the Second Amendment rights and privacies of American citizens. In September 2023, gun-grabbing organizations and far Left politicians including New York Attorney General Letitia James cheered on the creation of a new Merchant Category Code (MCC) for firearms retailers within the payment processing system....

The creation of MCCs specifically for firearms retailers is weaponizing the financial system against lawful gun owners by seeking to label and track transactions on firearms and ammunition. To counteract this infringement on our rights, we introduced the Protecting Privacy in Purchases Act....

This protection preserves the privacy of Americans making lawful purchases, prevents the creation of a backdoor registry of gun owners, and guarantees that legal commerce is not unfairly surveilled or impeded based on the nature of the goods sold....

While credit card companies paused the implementation of the code and several states and passed laws to block it, liberal states like California have mandated its implementation, making federal action necessary to set a nationwide standard....

Not sure why Newsweek is making a story of it now, maybe a last push to save/pass legislation before the new administration, but in either case:

Kitty Werthmann, when Austria voted 98 percent to join HItler
https://youtu.be/2ro0foFx354?t=1724
we also had gun control
the government said that
28:52
children were playing with guns and we had hunting accidents people
28:57
accidentally shooting each other and we had criminals again murderers the only way that they could
29:04
track the murderer was by the serial number of the gun so
29:12
bring your your gun to the police station then we can register the serial number and we can track the
29:20
criminal and we thought that was a good idea so gladly we did that
29:28
not long afterwards they said no it did not help we could not track all
29:34
the criminals the best way to have no more crimes
29:40
and no more people getting hurt bring your guns to the police station
29:47
and they already know who had guns because we registered our guns keep your guns
29:56
and buy more guns and
30:04
and stack up on on your ammo a gun is no good if you don’t have any ammo
30:12
dictatorship did not happen overnight it took five years from
30:19
1938 until 1943 we had a full blown dictatorship
30:27
had we kept our guns we would have fought a bloody battle to the last men and
30:34
women to keep our freedom but we had no guns a classic example is
30:41
in switzerland it is law that everybody has to have a gun
30:48
and hitler took every country in europe except switzerland and switzerland
30:56
did not have a war for more than 600 years hitler never tackled switzerland so keep
31:03
your guns keep your guns

In the NY vs NRA suit, the court slapped down the NY attorney general for threatening financial institutions with reputational harm if the did business with the NRA. NY violated the 1A rights of the NRA. Pressuring banks to de-bank gun owners is the same thing.

If you make a $800 credit card purchase from Local Gun Dealer Inc. expect a government contact in the future.

Leftists think laws are to limit other people.

the democrats have been pushing gun control since 1962 when Thomas J. Dodd and Emanuel Celler proposed a handgun only registration scheme.
Dodd later wrote the 1968 Gun Control law using the 1938 nazi weapons act as a pattern.

No wonder that in 1941, just days before the Pearl Harbor attack, Congress reaffirmed Second Amendment rights and prohibited gun registration. In 1968, bills to register guns were debated, with opponents recalling the Nazi experience and supporters denying that the Nazis ever used registration records to confiscate guns. The bills were defeated, as every such proposal has been ever since, including recent “universal background check” bills.

The lies we have been told over the years...

1962 We ONLY want to register handguns. Rifles will not be affected!
1964, We ONLY want to register ALL firearms, not ban them.

1968 We ONLY want to register all guns, and ban the import of foreign Saturday Night Specials, and 5-shot bolt action army surplus rifles! (they got the ban).

1970, We ONLY want to ban small American handguns. Rifles will not be affected!

1976 We ONLY want to ban ALL handguns! Rifles will not be affected!

1981, Actress Lee Grant on Good Morning America (ABC) screams...”THE NRA IS A RIFLE ORGANIZATION! THEY SHOULD GIVE UP THEIR HANDGUNS AND THEY CAN KEEP THEIR RIFLES!”

1984, they came for the rifles.

1994..When they thought they had banned “As-s-s-ault rifles they did not shut off the lights and go home. they immediately went after their next target, .50 cal single shot rifles “THAT CAN TAKE DOWN AN AIRPLANE!”

They will never be satisfied till they have an unarmed population.

That reminds me of a joke back then.
The German ambassador says to the Swiss Ambassador: “Our army is FIVE TIMES bigger than your army. What would you do if we invaded?”

Swiss Ambassador: “Our our men would go to the border, fire five shots and go home.”
