Newly unearthed reports contradict previous claims made by Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz about his travel to China, including a claim that the Democratic vice presidential nominee traveled to China for a teaching position in 1989 during the Tiananmen Square pro-democracy protests...
Walz had previously said he visited Hong Kong in “May of ’89,” weeks before the Tiananmen Square massacre in Beijing. ...
But contemporaneous newspaper reports first resurfaced by the Washington Free Beacon, a conservative news outlet, place Walz in Nebraska around that time. An issue of the Alliance Times-Herald dated May 16, 1989, features a photo of Walz touring a Nebraska National Guard storeroom... A separate newspaper article about Walz’s planned trip to China published by a Nebraska-based outlet in April 1989 reported that he planned to travel to China in early August of that year.
When asked by CNN if Walz was in China during the Tiananmen Square protests, the Harris campaign was unable to provide evidence to substantiate Walz’s claim.
The contradiction was first reported by Minnesota Public Radio News and APM Reports....

now do the newspaper reports about his horse experience....
J.D. has so much stuff on this guy. He better bust his butt in the debate.
This guy is a bigger liar than Kammie the voodoo hoodoo.
He was ducking sniper bullets in Kosovo, too.
Hard to fight against news articles published at the time. No reason for a cover up back in 1989.
I do not recall reading that Walz claimed he was in China during Tiananmen Square. Unless he did, this is another squirrel for Republicans to chase so that Democrats can attack us for false accusation.
Bravo CNN.
He almost went to Iraq, where he almost carried a gun. He was almost in China for the Tiananmen Square protests, but he was actually in Nebraska (geography is hard).
Too bad he couldn’t have saved Uncle Bosie before the cannibals ate him!
at about 36 minutes in, Walz testimony, also repeated in the CNN article:

It’s another type of stolen valor.
He probably was there. Manning a machine gun!
Yeah. Just such a liar.
He says he was in Hong Kong of May 89.
Massacre happened June 3/4.
He says people were angry that he would still go “after what happened.”
The massacred hadn’t happened in May.
That comment would make sense if he was going in August, like the 1989 report states.
Or he’d have to have gone to Hong Kong after this May 166 article. Then come back. Then go again in August. Or…etc…
Even if Walz was in Hong Kong in May 1989, it wouldn’t matter, because Hong Kong was a British possession at the time.

Yeah. Manning a machine gun at Chinese freedom loving patriots, no doubt.
Oh oh... when even CNN is calling him out...
Walz is nothing but a lying thug! I hope J.D. provokes his uncontrolled temper. With the open mikes, that would be a thing for the American electorate to see.
