Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) on Wednesday condemned Israel over a series of explosions across Lebanon involving pagers that targeted members of militant group Hezbollah.
Ocasio-Cortez, a vocal critic of Israel’s government amid its broader war in Gaza, weighed in following reports that Israel’s intelligence and military arms were behind Tuesday’s pager attack that killed a dozen people and injured several thousand.
“This attack clearly and unequivocally violates international humanitarian law and undermines US efforts to prevent a wider conflict,” the New York Democrat wrote on social media platform X.
“Congress needs a full accounting of the attack, including an answer from the State Department as to whether any US assistance went into the development or deployment of this technology,” she added.

You are absolutely correct. Collateral damage is infinitely less than any bomb or missile. Plus, I haven’t heard a peep out of AOC the whole time Hezb has been rocketing northern Israel.

The exploding pager event was probably the greatest counter-terrorist act in my lifetime. Kudos to Israel. Now terrorists won’t even be able to open a breakfast cereal box without worrying about exploding corn flakes. GREAT WORK.
Do we know enough to credit Israel? It would be in their interest to cripple or kill Hezbollah. However, I doubt there is a pager store just for terrorists. Many of the injured were doctors and nurses, obviously not combatants. There were some electronic devices that were sabotaged, but the question arises: who had the ability to do so. I find it hard to believe the Israelis were able to sabotage them.
F U to AOC. They are the enemy! When your allies are wreaking havoc on an enemy who attacks defenseless civilians in Israel, you cheer on those allies. I am glad the Hezbollah higher-ups are feeling the pain, and hope more will come. You want to deescalate the conflict, stop exploding rockets and bombs indiscriminately on Israel!
I’d believe that Hezbollah leaders themselves passed them out to those people who were deemed not trusted, unloyal.

Hezbollah bought the pagers wholesale, and distributed them among members. Mossad had a dummy corporation in Germany that acquired the franchise to distribute the Taiwanese-made pagers. They got the big order from Hezbollah, doctored up the pagers in their order, and shipped it to Hezbollah in Beirut. Done and done. They BURG.
