It’s not fall yet. The leaves are dying because the trees are dying of thirst. And yes, evergreens are turning brown too.
I don’t give a flip about watering the lawn. If it dies, I don’t have to mow it. Watering the trees - - no way I can do that.
A large part of the state is in the same shape. Some have been lucky and gotten/are getting rain but not here. The radar shows light rain here but it isn’t reaching the ground. Dry as a bone out there.

Yay me! I probably won’t be awake to get a hat trick. LOL!
Man! It sounds very much like what we suffer here in the desert. Hope you get that rain SOON! We’re used to it and our natural vegetation is adapted, but yours needs LOTS of rain! It must look very sad.
Well, nuts...I didn’t read far enough. You already posted the Venus tunes.
Sorry...thanks for the post. ((HUGS))
😁..................................
I did finally make it...BUSY day, but it ended up with a lot of issues getting handled and finally completed.
Lots of ducks are back and they don’t play well with others.

Yesterday at Comanche Lake:
How's everyone doing this morning?
A week or so back Lewis county was the center of the driest part of TN, with parts of bordering counties sharing that extreme (according to a rainfall map I saw).
We’ve gotten close to an inch in the last 36 hours.
It does look pretty sad around here. It’s been a long time since we’ve had such a dry summer but it happens every once in a while.
I hope something happens soon to give us several soaking rains. If not, when the leaves do start turning and dropping late next month, it’s going to be a tinderbox. It’s already close.
Don’t like to hear the word “tinderbox” in your vocabulary. We certainly don’t need THAT to happen.
I don’t like it either but all those dead leaves on the already dry ground will be a bad combination. We’ve been there before.
After today, I bet you’re really ready for the weekend and a chance to sleep in a couple of days. But getting those issues dealt with was VERY good.
Ruh roh. Sounds like newbies have found the yard and the yummy snacks. They’d better behave if they’re going to stick around!

Looks like Gizmo just about wore himself (and probably you too. LOL) running all over the place. I see a big yawn. :-)
Yes, it’s been drier over there than here (Franklin Co.) and I’m glad y’all are getting some rain. You need it worse than we do.
I stepped outside a few minutes ago and it’s spritzing a little. The better rainfall is coming up from Huntsville and scooting past west of here. We’re going to get nothing out of all of this.
Fingers and toes crossed!
We just had heat. Lots of it. It got up to 98 this afternoon, though it is a pleasant 82 right now. I guess it was just a one-day weird thing, because the temps gradually start going back to sort-of normal starting tomorrow. I guess summer was throwing itself a little hissy fit. LOL!
