It’s not fall yet. The leaves are dying because the trees are dying of thirst. And yes, evergreens are turning brown too.
I don’t give a flip about watering the lawn. If it dies, I don’t have to mow it. Watering the trees - - no way I can do that.
A large part of the state is in the same shape. Some have been lucky and gotten/are getting rain but not here. The radar shows light rain here but it isn’t reaching the ground. Dry as a bone out there.

Man! It sounds very much like what we suffer here in the desert. Hope you get that rain SOON! We’re used to it and our natural vegetation is adapted, but yours needs LOTS of rain! It must look very sad.

A week or so back Lewis county was the center of the driest part of TN, with parts of bordering counties sharing that extreme (according to a rainfall map I saw).

We’ve gotten close to an inch in the last 36 hours.
