A Reuters and New York Times sampling of undecided voters following Tuesday’s debate indicated former President Donald Trump won support from swing voters.
The debate, which was widely criticized for bias on the part of the ABC News moderators, was mostly seen as a draw between Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris. “These ‘moderators’ are complete hacks,” Michael Knowles posted on X. “It’s three on one, and Trump is still winning!” Some political pundits predicted the debate would have little effect on the election. According to a Reuters sampling, however, six out of ten undecided voters said they were leaning towards Trump due to Harris’s “vague” answers and because they “trusted” Trump more on the economy, the top issue of the 2024 cycle.
Reuters interviewed 10 people who were still unsure how they were going to vote in the Nov. 5 election before they watched the debate. Six said afterward they would now either vote for Trump or were leaning toward backing him. Three said they would now back Harris and one was still unsure how he would vote.
…
Five said they found Harris vague during the more than 90-minute debate on how she would improve the U.S. economy and deal with the high cost of living, a top concern for voters.
…
Four of those six also said Harris did not convince them she would pursue different economic policies than Democratic President Joe Biden, a Democrat they largely blame for the high cost of living.

Amen
Ultimately, the debate failed to move the needle.
I felt like crap this morning with all the negative crap going on after the debate
Doom and gloomers are so odd.
Trump was Trump, yes, some hiccups, but being seen as earnest is always going to ‘trump’ being seen as cynical.
Harris did not change the big knocks against her last night, even in a debate she ‘won.’

10 is a very small sample size.
It was Trump’s “Kobiyashi Maru”, he needed to change the conditions of the test.
Don’t let the propaganda get to you, it’s to be expected.
The one fault with Trump’s and Republicans debate strategy is not demanding more debates.
Any Republican should propose that will debate the Democratic opponent anytime, anywhere using any format and moderators so long as the Democrat agrees to the same thing in reverse.
We would get two debates, one with Democratic rules and one with Republican rules, let’s see who can best handle the hostile environment
Republicans usually agree to whatever the Democrats want and end up debating 3 versus 1
In other words, they interviewed blithering idiots.
“Doom and gloomers are so odd.”
We definitely are glass half empty types. I doom and gloom here for two reasons. First is, it’s a place to vent. A place with like minded people. Second, I’m hoping someone can show me that I’m wrong. In my doom and gloom, I would love to be wrong.
BTTT
I'm no fan of Frank Luntz, but he made some observations about televised debates back in 2016 that have stuck in the back of my mind:
1. Polls taken in the immediate aftermath of a debate are meaningless.
2. Polls taken 48 hours to ten days after a debate tend to give the exact opposite results of those taken immediately after the debate.
3. Focus groups of voters watching a televised poll are far more informative than stupid polls.
I didnt the headlines and spin was written Monday
It usually takes a while for the truth to leak out
Trump bombing info on twitter this election is a game changer!
So far I haven’t seen any reactions to Kamela’s constant smirking. It was terrible optics.
Was=were
The debate demonstrated the clear choice that Americans now have. If they want a continuation of Biben’s policies, a lower standard of living, open borders, to trade their freedom for socialist promises and policies, and globalism, they will vote for Harris. If they value their liberties and the American nation itself, they will vote for Trump.
Trump didn’t do poorly but he came across as he needed some sleep. Trump functions on 4 hrs of sleep a night but at least the night before he should have had 8
Those blithering idiots may decide the election. : )
